ELB is my least favorite color (other than poop brown). In my eyes, all the curves and lines of the car get washed out - even more than with black, somehow. Plus, it seems like the most "old man" color out of the bunch, which surprised me since I liked the blue on the C7. (no offense to ELB owners - all C8's are awesome)
RB, on the other hand, is fresh and really pairs well with the mid-engine exotic look of the C8. This car looks like a legit super car, and, in my opinion, super cars should look like Skittles.

We name our cars, weird to some, but is our thing and our RB C8 is called "Skittles" for that very reason! It should look like a super car.
Seeing it in person did it for me. ELB was one of a couple colors I was considering before I went to Kerbeck last year to see them in person. I saw Rapid and was just like “holy ****, that color is amazing”. I’ve had 3 Vettes previously and all were black on black on black, so this was a huge change for me. But my eye kept being drawn to it even when I was looking at the more muted white and black that I sort of assumed I’d end up with.
Seeing it in person at Ciocca. Prior to that afternoon, liked RB well enough from pix but ranked several colors, including ELB, ahead of it.
So glad we (Mrs. Rapid loved it as well) went in that direction. Seeing mine for the first time sitting on Corvette Blvd. in the Museum was emotional, it looked so damned beautiful to me…
I was actually considering a different color altogether, then I fell in love with the tension blue/twilight blue interior. After that, rapid blue just seemed like a no-brainer.

I love the TB interior, though it just seems like a bit much with the rapid blue exterior. Though given how many RB/TB cars have been built I'm in the minority, it seems really popular.
Once you see it in person, it stays with you. I was torn between red, yellow & rapid blue initially. But saw a RB one day when I was out running errands and I was like...that's the color.
My previous C4 was classic torch red. My choice was red mist, however I really don't care about cosmetics ie colors, etc so what I did was rule out a few colors (brown, black, police attraction yellow) and then GF had final configurator choices: (wow did I save money on a lot of items) and we really like the smurf blue. I am very happy she is more mature than me. Her choices: no stripes, no wing, no black wheels, no 2 tone seats, a trip to Paris and maybe Milan.
Upddate:
Dropped by my PPF installer today. They see a lot of new C8s and had a white one today. When I stop by they all come out and mention that is the best color C8 they have seen. I asked what about the other colors they work on the they told me they tell customers "thats nice, that's pretty" but the RB they say "Wow".
My 2015 Vette was Laguna blue (very similar to Elkhart Lake Blue), and I was trying to decide between the two C8 blue colors. I was was able to see both of them at the 2021 Mecom car auction in AZ (owners were flipping almost new cars), and just fell in love with the bright Rapid
blue! The Rapid Blue car at the auction also had the two tone 3LT blue interior, and that combination sold me! I finalized my order with MacMulkin when I got home and took delivery at Bowling Green in October. Loving the choice 6 months later. Still get tons of compliments wherever I travel!
Supercars look great in bright colors. I personally hate the black boomerangs so my car has body color accents. I love rapid blue and if that wasn’t available I’d probably gone with orange.
A lot of people buying black, grey, silver, even red are doing it for resale purposes.
Still waiting for our C8..but my wife chose rapid blue. She had a late 1980's Camaro in Maui blue that was stolen from her at college. So the rapid blue is close and in memory of that car.

Same here. Saw ELB first at Kerbeck and wanted it and then saw Rapid Blue at my local dealer and knew that was the color I had to have. Looks so much more exotic.
That’s a good way to put it. I remember picking mine up at the museum and my wife said “I feel like you made the right choice. If you had gotten white or black, you would have loved it, but I think you would have had some regret any time you saw the blue. But I know you’ll have no regret driving the blue and seeing other colors on the road.” She nailed it.
