So last night I went for some drinks to the Ritz in Miami . Usually when I go in my Alfa Romeo they stop me at the gate and asked me where I am going . Yesterday I went in the C8 as I am about to stop at the gate to talk to the guard the door opens . It felt special not because of me , but because of the car that many of us drive , enjoy , and hopefully not take for granted .
At a recent local Cars & Coffee, there were a bunch of photographers at the gate and were snapping pics of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens, etc as they drove in. When I pulled in with my C8, they all put the cameras down and waited for me to pass. But they picked their cameras back up for the Ferrari behind me!

I believe your C8 is special and so will be mine! People talk about Ferrari and Bugatti... But to me those are the poser cars. You have to be part of the club and grease palms to get a new Ferrari and Bugatti has an unlimited budget and prices. Snooty trust fund baby cars lol
The Corvette is a supercar for the people, an engineering marvel. Performance, reliability, amazing features, wonderful design team! As a mechanical engineer myself... I really appreciate what goes into these cars.

Why is it that the people that have the financial means and the connections necessary to buy a Bugatti or Ferrari are considered by you to be posers?
Can't they be real car enthusiasts, too?
I would posit that some of them may even be mechanical engineers.
My cars I love them both even if there not Ferraris or lambos Making it my own My HRE wheels again my taste my car Carbon fiber everywhere in my car . So I think weather in naples or anywhere I am proud of it

This.
Personally, I couldn’t care less what anyone thinks about my car (I take delivery at the NCM this Thursday), nor did I buy it to impress anyone. I consider myself blessed to be able to own a Corvette. However, we create our own blessings.
I’m not a millionaire, but I worked all my life to have a great life. I have a nice home, a great wife, retired from our Army, and have a great second career that I enjoy. I’m glad the Corvette is an all-American sports car that delivers supercar performance at a fraction of the price.
If I were a millionaire, I’d still be driving a Corvette.
All of the above said, Corvettes still turn heads and I think that’s pretty cool.

Reason: NCM, not MCN lol

We all might consider dialing-down the condescension and judgment a notch or two, as poser-hood is always a matter of perspective. A huge swathe of America sees us in our beautiful hyper-polished C8s with ceramic coatings, added on carbon fiber wings, and multi-thousand-dollar aftermarket wheels parked out front at the club, course or restaurant, and thinks to themselves "POSER" - not just those who drive those even-more-expensive cars (Ferrari, Bugatti) but also those who either cannot or choose not to afford the price of entry to a C8.

Completely agree. I absolutely love my C8. I've been blessed to have owned a C6 and C7 as well. But neither of them gave me the feeling I get when I just look at or drive my C8. When I first saw pics of the C8 I thought the front end was too short and the back end too long. But once I saw one in person, I had to have one. Now when I see pics of a C7 I think my god the front end is sooooo long. Not that I don't like the C7, I do. But the C8 just gives me a feeling that none of my other Vettes did. The C8 is just an engineering marvel at its price point.
I went to work for a large oil company right out of high school, and worked my butt off to get to the point I am now - retired with a 401k well into 7 digits but live a humble life. Even though I have the means, I would never own a Ferrari or any other so called super car. I dreamed of owning a Corvette since I was a kid, and it is the only sports car I would even consider to own. It IS Americas sports car, and it's a beauty.

Hey man, I agree!! I was just trying to cheer up the OP since so many quickly replied that he needs a fancier car to be special (see above). I know rich people can be enthusiasts as well! But you have to admit.. there are a lot who care more about the status than the engineering achievements!
You know it is true about not being able to buy a new Ferrari until you own lesser ones lol, they are a bit snooty

Also did museum delivery. First ever Corvette and yes I feel blessed as well. Can’t speak for the other cars. Never drove any, never considered owning any. I first saw the C8 at the Rolex 24 in 2020. Chevrolet had one with no skins. The gravitational pull felt like a Star Wars Tractor Beam. No skins mind you. And now I have one in my garage. Life is Good!
I went to a local small car show........ maybe 200 cars........ there were 12 C8s. They are everywhere and growing everyday. Great car but if you want a daily driver sports car you cant beat it. I've always wanted a Ferrari, actually started a Ferrari fund years ago and have saved enough to buy one......... but why? To keep it in my garage??? Not me! But each to their own.
I was in Naples for a weekend recently and it did seem every other car was a Ferrari or Bentley. The few C8s we saw drive by did get plenty of attention and finger points on crowded 5th avenue though.
