Default TPMS Sensor

Do the TPMS tire sensors have a temperature sensor in them that tells if tires are warm or cold?

Short answer is yes. I have a TPMS reader that I use on all of my cars and it also tells what the temp. is in each wheel

And the TPMS Sensors also feed an overall Tire Temperature status (Cold, Cool, Normal, Warm or Hot) on certain Dashboard layouts/information tiles. -Rick

The actual answer is "sort of." The sensors (on the C7 at least, and I would guess the C8 is the same) don't actually detect tire temperature directly. They detect the temperature of the chip inside the sensor, which is influenced by the temperature of the air in the tire, and then an algorithm translates that to Cold, Warm, etc. What's really important from a traction standpoint is temperature of the tread, but nothing located inside the tire, mounted to the rim, can determine that directly.
