My wonderful 2021 C8 was delivered August 27, 2021. After 2,500 miles I experienced a headlight issue where the passenger side headlight light would have zero DTL and zero headlights, but the high beams and turn signals would work fine. After the dealer did excellent diagnostics it was discerned that all the wiring was fine; the control modules were fine. Therefore, the headlight unit itself was defective. New one ordered but no in stock supply so no ETA. I am now driving as is, without the passenger side light until the new unit arrives. BTW, no GM bulletin on this at all, so I guess I am the lucky one. Oh well, there are worse things that could have happened.

Hello Ed, Just a suggestion, there are a couple perfectly good used headlights on Ebay right now in the $1300 range. I personally sell auto parts on Ebay for a living and search for hard to find NOS parts. You can always purchase one and install it until your New headlight comes in. Once your new one comes in and it is installed, You will be able to sell the used one for what you paid for it, in the past 3 months 13 have sold so they are a fast moving, in demand part. Also most Ebayers have 30day money back so if you did get one and it does not work you are protected and able to return it. If they do not accept returns and you receive one that does not work, all you do is file a return as "item not as described" and you get 100% money back, buyers are protected, Check out item 255442902237 (just copy and paste in the ebay search bar) (also not my listing)
Just a thought to get by so you can enjoy driving your car and still get your investment back down the road.

This scenario requires two installations and only the dealer-part would be installed for free. Could be expensive to install and that cost would likely not be recoverd when re-selling the used item.
Sorry to hear this, but you're hardly alone... in not being able to get replacement parts, though new cars are being built with them. It seems GM is prioritizing getting more cars out there instead of fixing those of the people who's money they already have in hand.
ED, at least you can drive your car, the headlight is under warranty and the dealer has ordered a new one. If your car was out of warranty, I would imagine the headlight would be expensive. $$$$.

Yes, I am looking at this in a positive way. My post was meant to be informative, not whiney. With all that is going on in the world - especially in Ukraine - this is truly a first world problem. As a matter of fact, I plan to drive the car today to a weekend meeting.
my car went into the shop mid December and they ordered the light on back order and got it on 2nd week of March. I think it could have been longer just that the parts guy is close with the GM guys that been touring around with the z06.
Hi All, Here is an update to the headlight problem referenced in this thread. It took 2 1/2 days for the new headlight to come in. Due to staff shortages it took a week to get an appointment to install it. New one works fine after installation and testing. My baby is home now.
