I remote started the car in the garage the other day and I noticed the car move backwards and forwards a little bit. Not enough to be dangerous but it was concerning.
Don't recall seeing this on my 2020.
Anyone else experience this?
It's just drag torque from the DCT wet clutches, can't go anywhere with the parking pawl engaged. Very similar to starting up a motorcycle in gear with clutch lever pulled in, you get that bit of movement especially if oil is cold.
I was showing a friend the other day and did a remote start. The car went forward a few inches. Enough to startle me and he reached to try and stop it. First I have seen that, but only used remote start a few times.

Harmless? I never noticed it, but I do set the EPB. There are times when I have to arrange my cars such that there is literally a couple of inches between cars, and the cars and the garage wall. A couple inches of unexpected motion (if it really is that much) could be a problem

yes harmless. The car isn't rolling forward, it shakes.

Keep using your parking brake if you’re parking you cars inches from each other. You may not notice a little movement but every vehicle moves a little. I use my rear camera to hook up my trailer and when I get the hitch just right I have always had to put the parking brake on because if I just put in park my SUV would move a couple inches and the hitch would be off. This is nothing new for any vehicle. Ever since Covid people are noticing things they never did before.
The colder it is, the thicker the DCT fluid will be, and the more drag on the clutches and gears in the transmission there will be. But if you set the EPB, as you should (in any car), it won't move at all.
