Anyone recommend a good shipping company. Not sure I want to drive 1700 miles to bring home a new C8.
Not sure it would be good to break in the engine with 1700 highway miles.
I have had good experience with Montway. They shipped my Mercedes EQS580 from Wisconsin, and also my wife's GLE450 from Florida. They were originally recommended to me by a salesperson at Porsche in Los Angeles who said he has been using them for over 20 years.
They are a broker though so if you want a company that owns their own trucks and has their own drivers (the highest standard) then you should use Intercity Lines. I used them once, and they are amazing but also much slower than Montway. Montway can deliver your car within a week of the ask. Intercity could take 4-6 weeks.
I used Montway also and had a good experience. Shipped my C8 from Wisconsin to South Florida. Took about a week and arrived in perfect condition. Yes, Montway is a broker but I had a good experience with them. Paid for enclosed transport and had my truckers phone number for updates if needed.
A search of the C7 forums will confirm InterCity is the hauler of choice. They take all the worry out of fine car transport. Note: not a advertisement for them, they've just always done a GREAT job for me
I would not recommend using a broker as it's like rolling a dice as you lose control as to who is actually hauling your vehicle. Sometimes they use multiple trucks. Your car may be offloaded and sit on a lot somewhere or rodent infested warehouse waiting for another transporter to pick it up. The best haulers don’t need a broker to find them work.
Quality haulers like Intercity pick up your vehicle and it stays on the same truck under the responsibility of the same driver communicating the entire trip.
I’ve shipped many cars, mostly coast to coast. I found Intercity to be the best. Also, Thomas Sunday and Passport. I had bad experiences Plycar overcharging. Reliable just damaged a rare car of mine. Pending is a claim.
It’s all about the drivers, maybe where car is positioned inside trailer. They all can make mistakes, it’s how they handle their mistake after delivery.
I used Intercity as I figured if it was good enough for J. Leno then it's good enough for me.
They also ship high end cars, had to wait to use them one time had several of their trucks at Pebble Beach concours. When they delivered my corvettes from MacMulkin, whom they use for long hauls, had exotics on the truck headed to Southern Florida. Have used them on two occasions and both were excellent experiences.
If you’re needing to transport your car somewhere between Ohio and Florida, Assured Motorsports is a great independent hauler. They transported my car from the dealer in Ohio to Florida last year. I used them to bring it down to Florida and back to Ohio this year. In fact, they just picked up my Corvette yesterday evening to take it back to Ohio. I won’t be back for another week so they will put it in the garage for me.
Intercity....I've used them twice.....and by all means, DO NOT contact a broker....ask me how I know.... :-)
Yep, I agree!
We pay what we have to pay to get a C8, wait 12-14 months for it to get built, then some roll the dice in taking on risk by using a broker to deliver your C8 just to save a few bucks or to get it a little sooner. I don't see the reasoning behind that.
Deciding on who to deliver your new C8 may be the most important decision you make in the process with the exception of which dealer you order from.

In addition to that, when I contacted a broker (the only time I did) I was inundated with emails and phone calls and texts from at least 40 trucking companies who wanted my business. The nightmare lasted for months.....brokers are evil.....
