Rainy day here in NY and I realized I NEVER use rain mode always my mode in aggressive settings. Doesnt seem an issue with the c7 and f type before it very much so and thay all had all seasons
I used Weather mode when I encountered unexpected snow flurries a few times.
At Spring Mountain, I thought they said that Weather mode uses spark retardation in addition to Stabilitrak where other modes rely just on Stabilitrak. I might have heard that wrong, though?
I drive my 2021 C8 HTC Z51 all year round in Ontario Canada(in snow belt to boot) and always try to remember to put it in Weather mode in snow-makes a difference-just wish I could set it to stay in weather mode for winter instead of having to remember to set it each time I start the car-Dec-March. Yes I have set of wheels with snow tires.
98% of the time you don't need ABS or traction control or Stabilitrack at all. But the times you will need it you'll really regret it if you turned them off.
Weather mode is the same. In normal use, 99% of the time it won't really make any difference. But the first time someone suddenly cuts you off in the rain, and you have to make a sudden swerve while braking at the same time, you'll be glad of the extra intervention it offers.
All these safety features are for the edge cases. If you knew that "in 1/2 a mile, I'm going to have to make a sudden emergency maneuver in the wet," you'd probably switch to weather mode. Since you can't predict that, why wouldn't you use it whenever it's raining? It's not like it interferes with anything in normal driving.
set and forget- my mode- I found I could easily get loose with front engine car much much less with this design. I drive it everyday and find hard to physically switch modes while drinking coffee with one hand and texting with the other all while Im shaving when driving.
nope really asking if anyone actually uses wet mode??
Oh, well actually I did use WET in TRACK mode at VIR when it started raining heavy during my second session.
A life saver as the car took control of the throttle & stability coming out of the corners.
The amazing part was later when the track started to dry out. I exited a turn that was now dry, it felt like the car went into limp mode as it bogged down.
It took me a second to realize what was going on. A quick turn of the mode select **** returned it to dry mode.
Hate driving in a fresh rain. It is as slippery as snot on a flat rock. After seeing how W worked on the skid pad I am convinced that it is just silly to not use it.

So true. Still, though, at least GM installed that Great Wall of buttons to hinder your movements when your passenger goes into wet mode.
