I’ve only put 47 miles on the new 2LT NON Z51 giving neighbours rides. My doorbell was ringing all day. The C8 is not the same old Corvette formula by all of my measurements. Previously, I’ve had a very significant number of vettes. Forget the looks it’s personal and I like both the C7 and C8. The mid engine stuff is is cool and I understand the reason for making the change. It is an ultra cool car in which to he seen. It drives like a Cadillac with *****. The bumps in the road are minimised and the ride feels as if I’m in a luxury car. No need for mag ride to soften the ride. However, I’d get it to harden the ride if you like the old corvette ride. It corners like it’s on rails without the mag ride but may benefit at high speed. It’s a very quiet car and I’m not able to perceive that the engine is behind me as it’s quiet and has no vibrations, it feels so much like a Cadillac that I feel like I have a Cadillac. The fit and finish are excellent. The GT 1 seats are comfortable and fit like a glove. The cockpit feels as if it is a real cockpit out of a jet. So far everything is easy to use and intuitive. Great great radio and very fast screen changes. HUD is the first I’ve had that is actually straight and not cocked sideways. Surprisingly I have found less need for the rear camera than I thought I would. As a matter of fact the side mirrors are perfectly mounted to avoid the lack of rear vision. I’d have been fine with a 1LT and you may be as well. Only managed 70 around a few sharp corners but no issues whatsoever with the car handling them with ease. No issues at the lip of the driveways either. Can’t figure out why the list of must have options is so long. I feel they are more must spend desires than must need. I’d be wary of spending money just to say you have this and that. It’s plenty as it comes. If you like the rougher feel of the old corvette I’d go C7. Will
follow up at a later date.

"Drives like a Cadillac with *****". I agree 100%. I had a washer and dryer delivered the other day and all the delivery driver and helper wanted to talk about was my C8. I still can't believe the C8 didn't go up more than 1K.

Congrats on your C8 and thanks for the feedback on the car. I enjoy reading owner’s perspectives on likes/dislikes.

The fit and finish are excellent. agree. The gt 1 seats are comfortable and fit like a glove. good to know, i went gt2 for adjustability and possibly didnt need to, the carbon fiber in the backrest is nice but it’s not like it’s particularly prominent. the cockpit feels as if it is a real cockpit out of a jet. So far everything is easy to use and intuitive. Great great radio and very fast screen changes. Hud is the first i’ve had that is actually straight and not cocked sideways. everything here is true. surprisingly i have found less need for the rear camera than i thought i would. As a matter of fact the side mirrors are perfectly mounted to avoid the lack of rear vision. I’d have been fine with a 1lt and you may be as well. we disagree somewhat here. Side mirrors are “fine” and driving is perfectly safe as you say, but the rear view camera is sensational. I did not expect to appreciate it as much as i do.. only managed 70 around a few sharp corners but no issues whatsoever with the car handling them with ease. that’s illegal speed, son, watch out. No issues at the lip of the driveways either. Can’t figure out why the list of must have options is so long. I feel they are more must spend desires than must need. couldn’t agree more, i opted for many of them knowing that if i didn’t have them i’d love the car just as much. i’d be wary of spending money just to say you have this and that. disagree as to premise, i spent the extra money for me and don’t gaf about being able to say i have x, most everyone i know couldn’t gaf about the extras that make me happy. it’s plenty as it comes. If you like the rougher feel of the old corvette i’d go c7. 100% right. will follow up at a later date. will look forward to it.

one final note, how do you feel about the macmulkin people “dissing” you like that, leaving a hangtag announcing that you’re “old” on the driver seat? I bet you’re younger than many of their customers!! Good thing you didn’t buy a GTO you old goat.

I feel these two sentences contradict each other. Spending money in a Corvette was def "to say you have this and that".

I'm more align with 'Bird67 comment above, "...i spent the extra money for me and don’t gaf about being able to say i have x...'

Congratulation on your beautiful ride

Beautiful Corvette ....... Congratulations !!!!!

Yep .... you feel like a Rock Star .

When I had my 2021 Sebring Orange , folks in the neighborhood
would stop by when I would wash it and talk . One neighbor actually
said the following " I thought that I would never see a car like that in this neighborhood " .
I laughed , but it kinda made me feel good inside .

Enjoy your new ride !!!!!

Congrats on the new ride!

I agree that many things people list as “must have options” are really just “nice to have” options. They are offered as “options” for a reason.

I would say the C8 is refined, but can be raw in an instant.

So according to Bird 67 I’ve become a waxer. Here is proof. Do y’all think so?

Nice car and color. I love the Red Mist, it sparkles in the sun. I'm just south of Nashua and am up there a lot. See you around in my RM HTC 2LT.

Beautiful, looks like a shiny jewel! What "Wax" did you use? So many options these days....

I washed the car thoroughly and dried with a brand new micro fiber towel. Next I used Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Polish with an orbital buffer. Careful to not use too much polish, After the buff I wiped down the car twice using separate micro fiber cloths. Then I used Renny Doyle Double Black Bead Maker Protectant applied by hand with crossing strokes to insure even coverage. That’s all and from this point will use the same Renny Doyle product as necessary. Let’s see how it goes.
BTW both products are relatively affordable.

Why do people always compare the rude to a caddy? How comfy has the caddy ride gotten over the years??

i always found caddy’s to not have a comfy ride being overly soft, the suspension would wonder, it would feel very floaty with no rebound set. The rear suspension would boom over bumps..

so why the comparisons in all these reviews?

First of all, in @Corvette03051 's case, he IS a waxer in the best possible way. What a shine!

Second, for the attempt to divert this thread from the lovefest that it is, I sentence @JonV51 to finding and streaming Get Shorty so he can learn more about the appeal of the Cadillac ride, even in the case of the Oldsmobile Silhouette..,the Cadillac of minivans.

No idea how Caddy has improved because my last one was 1976 500cu.in. Coupe deville and compared to any other car of that era it was smooth. Unfortunately it did not fit in our garage and on long trips you could see the fuel gauge move. Fortunately I bought it from Repo man cheap because I had to sell my van after too many people wanted help moving.
