Brake Hold? It has Hill Start Assist which applies the brake when the vehicle is stopped and facing upward on a hill while in Drive, or facing downhill in Reverse…
The wife's Palisade has this feature. You have to push a button to turn it on and a light comes on the dash when its holding the vehicle. Can be handy in traffic or a drive thru line, but no the C8 does not have this feature.
As mentioned, it only has hill hold. You could apply the EPB with a button push and it will automatically release when you give it enough gas.
My 2008ish Q5 had this feature and I used it all the time. In fact, I remember the dealer using it as a selling point - no need to sit with foot on the brake, just hit the EPB and then it will release when you hit the gas. I think most new cars have this today, and I don't think anyone uses it.
No Corvettes have ever had the brake hold feature you are asking about. My Mustang Mach E has the feature and it is really nice in town when sitting at a red light (especially the long red lights), but it can be a nuisance when in stop and go traffic where the car is only going to be stopped for a second or so. That is why in stop and go traffic I will either shut it off or use the auto pilot to do the stop and go for me (another feature that a Corvette has never had). It can also be a pain pulling into a tight garage since if the car comes to a stop the brakes stay engaged until you tap the gas. Since the C8 is not my daily driver it is not a big deal for me not having it, but I would be disappointed if it was not in the Mustang since I use it on a daily basis.
I had that feature on my C63S and it’s a feature I wish all manufacturers would copy.
Come to a stop then double tap the brake pedal: Brakes hold the car until the throttle is pressed. You didn’t have to keep your foot on the brake during a long red light.
