In a normal market where cars aren't going for over sticker, this is false. You're going to pay $X for it. If you're just doing that for resale, it would need to (BY ITSELF) raise the value of your used car by $X just to break even. Everything depreciates, and you get a percentage of the value back when you sell.

As far as making it just easier to sell, you know what else sells better? Being one of the lower-priced examples of a particular car in your area.

It happened during the last round of 2022 allocations. Didn't have anything to do with 1LT/2LT, there was a constraint n the BASE car. Same time there was constraint on the mag ride, so it seems that the Z51 suspension was the only thing they had quantity of, so you had to add Z51 to your car to get it built. No base suspension, and no mag-ride was available.

Very true.

But if you decide to go for the car, adjusting the mirrors or adding one of the small blind spot mirrors to the car would certainly help.

I can’t go up to 2LT since it’s going to be out of my budget. Should I just wait for it? Or just grab something like an E class…
I fking love this car though
If you love the car, get the car. A well equipped E will cost as much as a C8

The only point I can offer is that if you are tight on budget, this may not be a great car for you. Operating costs are about double what my MB SLK350 was. 93 PON fuel is needed and this engine sucks fuel. Unless you will DIY, oil changes ( 8 quarts of synth) are expensive and the DCT fluid change is really expensive. Then insurance and tires and .... In any case take a look at the maintenance requirements and call the service department for estimates.

However as far as 1LT or 2LT or Z51.. I have 2LT, however I found that MOST of the upgrades I used during the first few weeks only ie they are not needed or slight enhancements at best:
Heads Up Display - Don't need it and I find it a nuisance so dimmed it.
Lumbar adjustment - I forgot I had it and never adjusted
4 more speakers - 1LT gets 10. I am not sure the additional ones do much.
PDR. I played with the first week and now forgotten,
Rear Camera mirror. I used the first few days but now have it off. You get used to the regular mirrors,
Z51 - I did not want a wing and did not want summer only tires and did not need the other items.

I'm a firm believer if you must ask if you should by any sports car, you already KNOW the answer... The SUVs are on down the street.

If it already "irritates" you, I would suggest you find a way to get the 2LT. Nothing wrong with 1 LT, but your post says that it will be an issue for you. I find the the rear view cameras extremely useful! Have you considered pushing your order a few months back and saving the coin for 2LT? Good luck!

I had both a 3LT and a 1LT C7 - liked 'em both -- my C8 is ordered as a 1LT... with Z51 (required as that was the allocations my dealer got)... I'd have been happy without the Z51... but at 80.5 years old I didn't want to wait too much longer to get my C8 --

Please don't mention the E-class and the C8 in the same discussion, that's an apples to oranges comparison.
I dunno, @RobsVette04 , I think it's an illuminating and helpful revelation that this is not a person who is committed to accepting the compromises that come with owning a sports car. "There's no place to put my wallet," "it's hard to reach the phone charger," "it's too hard to get in and out of," along with "I can't see anything when I'm in it" are the types of things we've all heard from owners who buy sports cars on a whim and then sell or trade them quickly. We (used to) love folks like this because they are (were) often the source of very low mileage and barely driven sports cars that (before COVID) were a bargain to buy used.

Once again Bird puts forth words of wisdom. I can agree more. In fact, I’d recommend a sport sedan such as a BMW M or Audi R and so many others. All the size you want plus gobs of fun and performance. Even a standard BMW or Audi will knock your socks off. If you want a real quality sport sedan or suv that does not love to be brought in for service than look at Genesis you won’t regret it.
Best of luck

Did you just offer up an “e-class” as off ramp? Ewwww.

Just be patient on a ‘23 and the non Z51 constraint stuff should ease up so you can order the build you like.

I had a budget also. I have a 1LT and you won’t remember what you are missing when you are driving the car. I see just fine for my first 700 miles. Go for it!

I have a new 1lt and it’s great. Didn’t need a 2lt.

Thank you gbd069. This is great, practical feedback about actually using the 2LT features. I would love to hear anyone chime in who takes the other side of the issue.
