Default Museum Delivery Scheduling

I am curious if anyone know the answe to this.. We are scheduled for museum delivery two weeks from tomorrow (it was scheduled that way based on anticipated completion date 2 weeks out). It seems with low prod. numbers today we will be pushed back a day or so with the build. Let's assume our build is delayed a day or two (so 12-13 days prior to our museum appointment, how much leeway does the museum give under the two weeks? Is it likely we will need to set a new date?

Stay in contact with Shane. Do NOT make concrete plans contingent on build statuses UNTIL Shane has informed you that your car has been released to the museum. My car was build 2/9, released to the museum 2/15, took delivery 2/24. Had my car taken longer to be released, delivery date would have been pushed back 1 day for every day that goes by without release.

This is totally a guess, but I would imagine that your delivery date at the museum may not change much, if at all. The reason I say this is because there are already quite a few cars waiting in line for delivery there, more than a couple days worth. So if production numbers are low for a day or two, it will just shorten the queue that you are waiting behind, but I don't think it will to the point that no deliveries are being made for that day or two your assembly may be pushed back... if that makes sense. Please don't hate me if I'm wrong

Thanks to you both. I am ok waiting, just have a pretty tough schedule to work around so it is good to understand different possibilities ahead of time as I work through contingency plans. Any idea which days of the week are used for delivery? I presume not all seven...

The NCM will try very hard to make your original delivery date work - provided Chevy delivers the car to them.

I was wondering the same thing. Does the museum deliver cars every day of the week?

I can vouch for this. I won’t go into detail about our experience with “QC,” but Shane and company bent over backwards to get our car ready when our plans allowed us to be in BG. The experience could have been a big disappointment but turned out wonderfully.

Good luck…

This.
But don’t buy tickets for a flight or make other arrangements until Shane informs your that they have your car and confirms your appointment with them, as previously mentioned in this thread.

Any idea how long it typically is between build and whe they get the car?

The only definitive answer I can give you is “it depends”.

In my case, my car was built on 10 March, delivered to the NCM the same day and I picked it up on 24 March, exactly two weeks later.

When Shane confirmed they had my car, I confirmed travel arrangements. The hangup is usually the QC process. Very hard to try to predict when you will get the notification from Shane, but once you do, then you can confidently make your plans to pick up your car.
