Oh boy here I go...l got just under 2000 miles...Had gone about 4 miles to store and back...Had lunch and about an hour later went to give my buddy a ride to the store too, He just lives around the block and had not ridden in my vette yet...Started her up to go and a red screen of death came up saying trans was too hot and to stop safely..Temp trans only at 150 degrees water temp at 145 degrees fer.Tried to put her in gear and it just whirred and went no where....So cut her off and just visited for about half an hour...she ran just fine...no missing or anything...Well she staRTed just fine and the red screen was gone but it did have a yellow engine lite and said service trans...Went in gear fine and drove her the half block to my house...Now will have to wait till tue. to take her in....Man I just hope it was a glitch...Have broken this girl in right...No launch or over 4000 rpm ..
Got me plenty worried though....at least its home in the garage....No excessive heat felt at all........
I wish your C8 a speedy recovery, but 2k miles and never over 4k??
I admire your restraint, but you gotta kick it! Besides being a lot of fun that's what it's built for!
thanks to all....maybe not all.....The sad thing is its a beautiful weekend here and can not take her out with the top down.
I am 75 and my kicking days are long gone....but I want to do the launch and will .....and now i have to wait till tue. to take her in to shop.
BY the way its a l2 htc with only performance exhaust extra...poop happens... I am going to have her towed to the shop, not taking any chances of dirving but it is only 12 miles to shop...
My neighbor says see what you get for $83,000
I feel its worth it myself.....
Hope all have a great memorial day and I am watching the INDY...Top end like 236 mph...now thats moving on..
I've met @sanman55 and he is a really nice guy. We met at an all Corvette show earlier this month and probably talked for 30 minutes. He is very easy going guy and easy to have a conversation with. I also know the town he lives in and there aren't many roads for spirited driving near him. He is enjoying his car and that's what matters.
I'm almost 63 and my desire to push my cars hard every time I drive them has diminished over the years. I haven't hit the redline in my car but I have pushed the accelerator to the floor a few times. I've got over 4000 miles on mine and haven't done the launch yet either. I'm going to wait until I get to Ron Fellows in a couple of months and let them teach me how to do it right. We all buy these cars for different reasons.
@sanman55 - let us know what the dealer finds. I hope it's just a sensor.

Thanks dawg for those kind words, back at you
I think it is not as bad as I first thought....first I had the old red screen and said to stop safely, and would not go into any gear... the next time I started it was an amber engine symbol and said service trans..went into gear just fine...today started her and all it showed was the amber engine with no message...thats encourgeing...started just fine with no stumble....so ...we will see...will let all know...again thanks.and have a good one
update...took them 2 weeks to get to her BUT the good news is she is fine.....to a degree..There was a service notice about this issue...Its a software problem and they are working on it..In the meantime just drive her and it might not ever happen again but if it does just shut her down and restart...Its fine to drive.
I thought they were suppose to send out these types of notices???
My car was filthy from sitting outside for 2 weeks.....I asked them to wash it and they said they would try??? but so busy....
At least I will go and get her today and bring her home...Seems like months....
Its crazy that I had to wait 2 weeks but it is what it is...
Happy trails

Yep....but I called Hardy and Days and they both said they were as backed up as thornton...so whats a guy going to do...I thought that MAYBE because I bought it there It might be faster ?? It was interesting to watch my car video...Showed the work being done at the bay and the test ride they did...Even the unload of the vette from the tow truck....AT least they did pick me up at home and wash her too...I am just glad she is home..
