There is no consistency across dealers. In my case, I ordered in Aug 2021 and got the car in Aug 2022.

GM gives dealers allocations based on previous sales and leaves it up to the dealer on how they use them. I have no idea why there has to be all this control from above. The dealer is the face of the brand they are selling and the one who deals directly with the customer. I know that GM sets the rules and standards the dealers must follow but they also deserve the right to run their business the way that they feel fits their customer base. My dealer pretty much uses his Corvette allocations for his loyal customers, and it works for me.

Your dealer is either jerking you around or doesn’t have the allocation to fill the orders…and is jerking you around. Mine took was 13 months from initial order to delivery. Large volume dealers are delivering in 12 - 18 months consistently. Large volume dealers get more allocation, smaller dealers get few if any. Time to put down a deposit with a large dealer.

My problem is that small dealers have loyal customers too. They survive on those customers so if one orders a car and has to wait months or years that's not right. A large dealer down the road can get a guy off the street a car before that small dealer. His customer gets told "go to a bigger dealership" again small dealer loses. Not many will wait from May 2019 til September 2022

It has everything to do with GM they set the policy that whomever sells more gets the most cars

Totally agree. Place a deposit with several of the large dealers I was on 4 dealer wait lists in October 2021. 2 were small dealers. The 2 large dealers were Criswell and MacMulkin. MacMulkin came through and I am taking delivery Tuesday. From Deposit to delivery approximately 49 weeks.

I waited 7 months for my 22. Just depends on the dealer, the size of their list and how many cars they get.
