I had a similar problem (volume would die out, then come back blaring). Turned out to be my Android phone using Android auto. I rebooted the phone a couple of times and all is well...

Yes, I also thought that the OP's issue might be caused by the phone - Android or Apple.
Service people never fix anything anymore. All they do is replace stuff. They throw stuff against the wall and hope it sticks.
Pretty sure “replacing stuff” is the correct MOP for most consumer items today. If I had the OP’s problem, I’d rather my GM technician swap out the radio and/or amp rather than getting out a soldering iron and attempting to find the offending capacitor, resistor, diode, integrated circuit, etc…
A few months ago I lost all sound, including the turn signal sound...Took it to dealer and they gave me the phone number for gm audio....Nothing....the next day it suddenly came back on and has been on since????????? 2022 htc l2...

Do you still have that number by chance? My audio is all over the map, from sublime to subpar!!!

Very little stuff these days CAN be fixed - it's replace or doesn't work.... it's the nature of the beast - and has been for several decades now... doesn't apply to just cars....

I do agree with you and luckily my C8 has been great. But I did bring my C6 in to Chevy service because I had a stability control issue and all my suspension settings would not work and the stability control light was on in the dash. My Chevy dealer did have it for a few weeks but it turned out to be frayed wiring in the yaw sensor. How that happened who knows but they ordered me a new sensor, rewired it and its been working as it should since it was repaired so I was very pleasantly surprised they have a tech that figured it out and my service rep was very responsive with keeping me updated during the process.
