Placed on the list for a 23 a month ago priced the C8 at about 82,000 2lt, Z51 with Mag, G2 seats, mist red with black wheels, and a couple other goodies. Due to 23 increase that car is close to 86,000 which is to high for me. I even tried to cut as many options except Z51 and mag, a must for me, and still close to 82,000. I just can't get excited about the car optioned the way it is now, thinking that I should ask for my deposit back. Lets face it the dealer hasn't done anything to earn that thousand other than write my name on a list. Any one here been refunded their deposit
The majors (Criswell, MacMulkin etc) deposits are fully refundable up to order placement however its depends on your dealer's refund policy. Didn't you inquire prior to placing your deposit?
Even if your dealer has a no refund policy, I'm pretty sure you could get it back if you wanted to take it far enough (as in lawyer).
If dealer won't refund your deposit take delivery and sell it and make yourself $10k>$12k.

The dealer should have told you before you placed your deposit if it was refundable or not. we cannot tell you. It is up to the dealer. For example, mine was not refundable and they were clear up front before I paid them.
As progressive as California is, I'd be surprised if state law allows a car dealer to keep your deposit. For any reason. In Arizona deposits are fully refundable, the dealer cannot keep it under any circumstance.
Are you going to track the car? If not, let go of the Z51 pkg and add performance exhaust and the low profile wing & splitter. Also, you can always pick up a set of black wheels later. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
I guess with me its that added performance associated with the Z51 that makes it a must. I also have seen on you tube that GM is not building as many non Z51, so getting one might delay delivery even longer. I did just build a non Z51 on line, and the savings allows for some of the other goodies, it may be an option. I guess I will have to wait til the dealer calls for the formal build request and see what is available. I just hope there are no more price increases, if there is they will lose me deposit or not.
They haven't been building as many non-Z51s lately, but they still make them.
Based on having a C7 Grand Sport, I opted to get a Non-Z51 C8. I don't track the car and I didn't want to deal with brake dust and summer tires again.

They don't. If its a California dealer they have to give back the deposit up to and including right at delivery.
I read that only 3-5% of the Corvette C 8 ever go on a track. I think Z51 is a waste of $.
Ignorant post. For the 100th time, Z51 is not a track only package. Better brakes, better gear rear ratio and eLSD make for better handling during daily driving too. Nowhere on GM’s site does it say Z51 is a track only package. Do your research before you’re going to spread misinformation.
It doesn't matter what others here have or have not gotten back from their dealers. All that matters is what YOU and your dealer agreed to... in writing. Reread what you signed. All the best.
