This car definitely has strong cooling capacity; greatly improved vs. the C7!
My car holds rock solid engine/oil/DCT temps in the 170's even in triple-digit ambient temps (hottest so far that I can recall is 109°F).
For further info, I do have Scrape Armor radiator guards, ceramic coated headers & cats, some engine bay DEI heat shielding, and added a bottle of Redline WaterWetter to the cooling system.
I was just thinking of Heat Soak. it seems there is none in the vett, doesn't matter how many times i get on it in this south Florida heat ,, it feels a strong as the initial start-up .. they sure did a great job keeping her cool
Mine has a strange quirk related to cooling. If I drive like a “granny” around town for several days, the operating coolant temp starts creeping up to 190° or more. Not really too high, just a strange trend. I found that if I take it out to a back road and air it out, it comes back down for a couple of days.
Yesterday, I took a two hour road trip. On the way out, it was in the mid 90s and the temp wandered between 187° and 192° at a 75 mph cruise. On the way back, at 102 degrees outside, it started doing the same thing. I detoured onto a back road and redlined a few gears from a rolling start a couple of times. After that, it stabilized to an almost constant 185° for the rest of the trip. 🤷🏻♂️
Uptake, it doesn’t like being driven like a “granny”.
So, after making internal combustion powered vehicles for a 100 and some years, we have ones that can effectively control temperature... in the 21st Century? WoW!
