Default How common are C8 problems?

Reading about all the issues being reported here with the C8, I have to wonder what I'll be getting into when my own Stingray arrives later this year. I'm trying to get a handle on this, and hope this poll might provide a more objective view.

Over 5,000 miles on my 2022. Not one single problem. Love it. What you'll be getting into is an awesome car.
Nice C6. I also have a 2010 coupe in Cyber Gray. Over 40,000 miles and not a single problem with that one either.

My 2020 Z51 3LT coupe is now 18 months old with 9,300 miles. The only "flaw" has been two horizontal scratches in the windshield replaced under warranty.

I only have 1050 miles on mine but no problems except that I replaced the sunlight sensor for $15.

You don't have a choice in your poll that fits my case. I have had one problem in 2500 miles with my 2021. It was the "water on the passenger floor" issue (water from the a/c condensate drain) that you can read about in another thread. There were two failure modes that I know about. One was that the elbow going into the tunnel was not in place and leaked. The other was where the elbow was in place, but water ran down the inside of the tunnel and out through a seam. Mine was the latter. I fixed it myself. I suppose it would have fit under the "minor" problem repaired under warranty - but initially the dealers did not know about the problem and so it often took several tries to fix it - and some had to have their carpet replaced. A bulletin came out later, and I think now it would be a known fix. Also, I think its permanently fixed at the factory - have not seen any new posts about it.

This forum will give you the least objective view, so you're really wasting your time asking this question here. You're going to get the typical, "less than 0.0001% of C8s have issues", "people join forums to complain", "forums over-exaggerate issues", etc.

Best bet is to read the C8 problem sticky at the top do research outside of this forum. The transmission seems to continue to be something that needs watching, paint issues around the headlights, HTC component issues, and new for 2023 no way to open your rear hatch if the latch mechanism fails.

I didn’t add a “fixed by owner “ but that should be considered minor and can be included in the minor and fixed under warranty. It's really about gauging the severity of issues.

Any online forum will be, at best, subjective. I think they’re more often skewed towards exaggerating the problems, since those with issues are more likely to post than those with no issues. A simple poll may, I hope, give a more realistic sampling. The DCT has obviously been a source of concern, but still no way of really knowing what percentage of cars have been effected. On both my C6's, I was hit with both recalls and TSB's … most of which dealt with very real and serious problems. I haven’t seen that yet on the C8, so still not sure how the reliability compares.

When I picked up my 2021 driver side daytime running light would not work in daylight. Bought from MM, drove it home and made appointment with my local dealer who replaced it and no problems since. 2500 miles so far, love the car.

Same for me, 2500 miles. picked it up on 5/12 had the light sensor issue. Replaced under warranty at the dealer at around 1500 miles (drove home from MM)
Flawless otherwise.

A poll like this will certainly be inaccurate and generate a problem % above whatever the 'real' % might be.
Of all the corvette owners who experiences a problem many will 'google', 'bing' or whatever that problem to see if they can collect more information.
When they do that with the C8 problems most of the replies they will see will be at this forum - sending an inaccurate % of owners with failures to this site and this poll.
Please test it yourself - use your favorite search engine and put in various searches such as ....
' problems with C8 corvette', '2021 corvette battery dead', ' 2022 corvette transmission problems', '2021 corvette top issues' - does not really matter what words you use if searching for 'problems' you will have this site in front page results.

MUCH, Much Less Common than reading a forum such as this would have you believing, as MANY come to forums to report, vent and get advice on problems, however FEW come to post how problem-free their C8s are.

11k miles here and car has only been in the complimentary service @ 7k miles and then for an alignment after I lowered it.

Far fewer problems and initial warranty issues than my C7 had. Overall, the C8 seems to be the better built car.

I've had several

1) the info screen was defective when it arrived. The unit had to be replaced
2) the OTA update caused a dead battery. Car had to be towed to the dealer (I view this as a GM screw up rather than the car itself).
3) the glovebox switch worked poorly from the start and now doesn't work. Waiting nearly a year for a replacement
4) the top became out of alignment making a loud "snapping" noise. The body had to be readjusted and parts repainted

But I actually like the car and have no regrets. It runs terrific.

400 miles 2022

Daylight running lights are always on. Sensor defect

Informant screen froze but went away after car restarted.

Praying that's all to it
