Default C8 Allocation Question

My dealer mentioned to me last week that he would try and get my order assigned to an allocation this Thursday. After doing a ton of reading, is this even possible, or do allocations have to have been submitted by June 16th for this month?

Unless they got a surprise allocation, which happens sometimes, your dealer has no clue what they’re doing. Would recommend getting on a top 10 list if you want to see a car in a reasonable amount of time. Also helps to call around and get on small lists with no deposit. Might get lucky in short time.

I would see what your dealer says on Thursday. You have nothing to loose. Maybe you will get an allocation for July. Allocations are given to the dealers on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

This month, allocations were broken in 2 for many dealers. First allocation nearly 2 weeks ago, and more tommorrow. Not sure why as this is not normal, but has been confirmed by several dealers

Just saw this on Rick Conti's YouTube yesterday. He said he can't even remember the last time GM did this. Interesting!

The rest of GM's vehicle lineup has 2 allocation cycles per month. With only 1 cycle per month since the rollout of the C8, the Corvette is unusual. Maybe they're going to get the Corvette on the GM wide norm.

Thanks for the replies! Very interesting to see the 2 cycles for this month - maybe there is some hope for this week.

I will keep everyone posted as to what my dealer says tomorrow.

MAYBE - and I freely admit this is speculation - they think that two allocation cycles is a better way to deal with parts availability-related constraints? With shorter length cycles they have a better ability to react to predicted inventory of needed components?

I’m next in line at my dealer. I hope they get some allocations tomorrow (well, at least one ). At this point, I’ll work around any constrains.
