Default Quickjack Observations

I received my QuickJack 5000TLX the other day and here are a few observations and pics.

1. Unlike others I found going through the set up process is time consuming and tedious.
2. The frames are extremely heavy…I mean really heavy and almost impossible to lift to store them out of the way.
3. The frames are difficult to move around on the floor and position under the car until I found several videos that showed how to add roller ball casters. Casters are a must have!
4. Did I mention everything is extremely heavy!
5. I was very surprised even though I got the extended version it was barely long enough to properly align with the C8 jacking points. There wasn’t an inch to spare.
6. I quickly learned do NOT use a wrench to tighten the reservoir cap it’s very easy to strip! My Duh moment.
7. Aligning the Quickjack frames (even with each other) is not as easy as it appears. Even though I got each side mounting points correct I quickly found out when lowering the Quickjack the Lock Bars where off. When one side reached the Lock Block the other side was still about an inch away from its locking block. This could result in one frame lowering while the other remains lock, not good.

Overall its well built but I much prefer my Jackpoint Jackstands which are far easier to use and weight a faction compared to the Quickjack system and are far less complicated to use. The only reason I got the Quickjack is I live in a flood zone.

I have no issues with mine. I leave it centered on the floor and park right on top of it. Easy to pull out and line up... then hit the button for lift.

I agree that they are heavy, and at first a little difficult to align, but for me it has gotten easier every time I use them. I like them a lot and would recommend them to anyone.

I have a set of the original QuickJacks and they initially came with rollers at one end. Makes moving them around a breeze. I'm surprised they removed them on the newer models.

The wheels are still there. He is complaining about moving it on the floor. I just glued my rollers to the frame.
If you are buying this product new, the model to use for the C8 is the 5000 TLX.

2, 3) leave them on the ground under the Vette - weight worries disappear. They are easy to slide around on the concrete
7) cycle them a few times and they get more consistent. mine are within 1/8" or so.
Suggestion: reverse the left and right sides so the *** end of your ***-heavy C8 is better supported. Right now a big piece of *** is hanging in space

I also have NO issues with mine, or moving it around on the garage floor. I just leave them flattened and pushed together under our Palisade when not in use, although I could leave them under the C8 just fine too.

We have SwissTrax garage flooring so the QJ frames slide around like they are on butter. In fact, when I go to use them, I just use the heel of one shoe to slide them to the outside area, then drive the car in and slide them with one hand back into exact position. Also, the SwissTrax flooring serves as my alignment feature to make sure I have the QJ frames parallel to each other and aligned front to back the same. Each floor tile edge serves as a reference point. Keep the same distance on frame rail to the edge of a tile front to back and same going side to side. I don't need to measure anything. I'm always within about a 1/4".

First time set up and bleeding the system took an hour or so, but after than, it's piece of cake...... start to finish...... less than 5 minutes and I'm up in the air.

I agree...... even with the extended length, there is no left over length when jacking up at the correct locations on the C8.

Don't forget to open the VENT on top of the reservoir tank !!!

If you run into a difficult time trying to connect the hydraulic hoses together, or onto the pump unit, hold the DOWN button on your controller as you go to hook them together and it will go right together.

This,
and that.
I installed rollers and it is eazy-peazy for this 70 year old.

I guess it's really good you did not get the 7000 series then. We have no problems with ours so far.

I ordered a Quickjack back in JANUARY and the box with the hydraulic unit was obviously dropped during shipment and the motor and pump were bent out of line-gap between black and silver housing made it very obvious. I reported it to Quickjack and they were extremely accommodating saying they would send out replacement unit no problem just throw old one out. Since then I have received many notices saying
"
Global supply chain conditions and labor shortages mean it's taking us longer than expected to ship your order. Your parts are reserved and we'll ship them as soon as we can.

Thank you for your patience and continued support."

I rented a hydraulic unit from some guy and used my lift frames-all work great-yes set up took a minute but definitely very solid well made lift-yes darn heavy but this 71yr old guy managed to stand them up and put them in home made wall set up-actually seems like a great product except for actually delivering a working unit of my own!!

At this point I am starting to think scam or at very least horrible customer service?? Comments?? Thoughts???

So are people saying that the regular 5000 series won’t work on the C8? They work great on my C7…

I just went with the 5000TL as others say works fine. The $350 discount made up my mind. I addition, I need the 5000TL for my 65 427 AC Cobra replica. The EXT is too long. I got mine setup and it works fine. The car is 100% stable. I used it to change my brake pads over to Powerstop's #26 pads. The only issue I had/have is both ends of one of the long lines are dripping fluid a bit under pressure. I plan to disassemble the quick-connects on that line and reseal it.

Yes I know, we have 2 of them - but if the OP is having problems with the weight of the 5000 the 7000 is heavier.

You have your lock bars on the inside of the frame. The manufacturer says not to do that.

Agree with the observations. I swear it took me 20 minutes to get them lined up the first time. It’s tricky because of the shape of the C8 and not being able to get them easily parallel with a marker on the car.

But the more I use them, the easier it’s gotten.

I will say on my wife’s Subaru, the pinch welds are completely parallel, so setting up the QJ and aligning them is a cinch.

Overall they’re a great investment and the more you use them the easier and quicker it gets.
