@befree2spin I bought one of the recommended ones from Amazon. Caused me lots of problems with recordings that I couldn't figure out----until I bought a another similar card at my local Target. Just saying to be cautious of any you buy from Amazon and to know that recording issues may well be a bad card problem.
Perhaps the most important requirement is "Class 10" which describes the speed which the card can accept and record data. Most cards I see for sale are at least Class 10, sometimes just described as C10.
I got one of these from Amazon, and it's been fine.
I just purchased a SanDisk 64GB Extreme SDXC UHS-I Memory Card. Only $13 on Amazon. Not as much time as a 256G but not sure I need more. Covers a full day drive and if there is something I want to keep, I'll just copy it over.
I bought this one SanDisk Ultra 128 GB UHS-I SDXC - Walmart.com but for some reason here in Canada at Bestbuy it was only $14. I see people are paying $100-200 for larger cards but not needed. I bought mine in November and it is a daily driver so hundreds of recordings at hi-res and audio. When I got to half full after 6 months, I copied some interesting ones to my laptop and just reformatted the drive that took about 20 seconds. 128GB is more than enough available space but it was actually cheaper than the 32gb and 64.
I got this one. Did not require any formatting. Works fine. Says I have "over" 1000 minutes of time. Does not say how much over, but it has said that for 2500 miles and I have never deleted any videos.
Just an FYI, you really don't need these gigantic 256 & 512 Gig cards. The biggest file I have recorded with the PDR is a 29 minute track session, file size 1.25 Gig.
The most important part is that you buy a Class 10 card

I have had my 512 GB version in the car for over two years and it still says 636 minutes remaining. It records every time I start the car.
That sounds like a scam that is very common when it comes to memory cards, disks, etc., especially coming from China. That card maybe only a 1 or 2 Gig card that has fake coding that a computer will read as 512 gigs until you try to load it up with data. The C8 system will load it up to its real capacity and then rewrite over it when full. You might not even realize that the card is not the advertised capacity.
