Default PDR Overwrite

One of the things I really like about the C8 is the PDR automatically recording every drive. If there ever is an accident it would certainly be helpful in determining whose at fault. I recently check my recordings and noticed there were no new ones since May. I thought they automatically overwrite the old files. Turns out there is a PDR option to check which allows overwriting.

I hadn't done so previously and the car did not warn that the memory card was full and no longer recording. There is a red dot on the radio screen when the PDR is recording and I had not noticed that the dot was no longer red.

So much technology in these cars!

There are a few solutions:
1. PDR / Settings / Automatic Recording / Allow Overwrite
2. Buy a larger SD card My 128 gets 1000s of hours and a 256 may last forever.
3. Copy any recordings you want to your computer using an SD card holder and Format the SD card
4. Once every few months I just go to PDR / Settings /Format and it deletes all recordings and starts over and takes about 20 seconds.

I had the same problem. I installed the recommended 256k card and I have gone a long time with no stopping of recording. Now all of a sudden it is doing it again. I pulled the card and checked and it still has a lot of space left. I am wondering if one of the recent updates inadvertently changed a setting. I plan to go back in and check all the PDR settings again but havent gotten a chance to do it yet.
