They are not cooled seats. It's just airflow passing through. If you want to cool the air flowing through the seats, set your AC to come out through the floor vents, as the seat fans are at the bottom of the seat.
didn't know that, impossible (or at least really hard from what i could see) to tell from the corvette build pics.
do you have 'em? how's the airflow?
I have them. Air flow is great. They are very comfortable, seem to wear well and you don't notice the ventilation holes that make the leather seats appear dirty in some colors. I've had microfiber seats in several Corvettes and all have held up quite well.
how's the microsuede (or whatever it's called) inserts wearing? i was looking at natural dipped inserts, and curious if they get grubby over time. black a lot easier to manage i'd assume. never had that kind of fabric in vehicle before.

Microfiber suede is a man made material that is very resistant to wear and soiling. They can usually be maintained with nothing more than a damp rag. I fou do stain them, Sonax makes a great cleaner for them. My 2014 C7 was a daily driver for 6+ years and the microfiber looked like new when I sold it to get my C8 ( which also has microfiber inserts and steering wheel).

The material wears very well and is much cooler to sit on when the cars has been in the sun for any length of time. The Natural dip does appear dirty when new compared to the black and one of the reasons I chose it. It's also quite plush while being easy to clean. Hope this helps.

In my DD, I do not have ventilated seats (only heated ones), but I do have a microfiber insert and after 7+ years, they look like they did when new. They seem to wear very well.

I had the microsuede inserts on my C7. After 6 years and 38,000 miles, they looked pretty much like new. I think they wear better than the leather, as no dye will rub off and they don't wrinkle. I ordered them again on my C8.
As for ventilation, none of the C8s I've been in move very much air, but the microsuede is no worse than the leather. And it feels a lot less hot when you sit down on it on a hot day. Also feels warmer in winter, if that's a consideration.
If you order microfiber seats option does that cause the center console and steering wheel to be that also?
No, only the steering wheel and the center seat inserts. Not hot at all. The vented seats work better than my Cadillac. For the money... to me it was worth every penny.
