Default Battery Tender

There is a cigarette lighter socket in the front truck passenger side. Does anyone know if this is where you can plug in your battery tender?

I keep mine plugged in there. Works fine.

Nah, that's in case you are transporting a smoking passenger in the trunk...

I use a CTEK MSX 5.0 from Amazon plugged in there when I am not planning to use the C8 for a while. The Corvette branded version you can buy from Chevrolet is also a CTEK. Only down side is you can't close the front trunk all the way with the cable plugged in.

Oddly enough, nearly 2 years in using a CTEK I have no issue closing the frunk lid fully. I do so gently of course and then give the cord a push/pull to make sure there is free movement. All good!

I also use the tender often. It is not a daily drive so once parked after 3-4 days of idleness, on goes the tender till the next run....just for peace of mind!

You can close the frunk with the charger plugged in if you run the cable out by the wiper base.

Didn't actually notice that the manual showed the maintainer in the frunk. That kind of bothers me. I've got a CTEK MUS and have always ran the lighter plug cord into the frunk with the tender and all AC cables away from the car. Am I just over cautious?

Mine sets in my frunk as shown in the picture above. It gets a little warm but by no means does it get hot.

I don't think that image appears in the earlier manuals. I use my battery maintainer in the garage. It sits on the concrete floor, away from the car. I have several for different vehicles and I generally try to keep them away from the vehicle. Are you being "over cautious"? I have never seen one of these catch fire, but I have had one overheat from an internal defect and get pretty hot (not recently, and not a CTEK). For me the location difference is trivial - in the trunk - on the floor - I'll go with the floor. I consider it cautious.
