Recently had my DCT changed at 850 miles due to a porous case. Everything went well and the new one seems to shift a little smoother between first and second gears. I did notice steering wheel is a little off of center when driving straight. I have a tendency to center the steering wheel which then has the vehicle going a little off, then having to correct it to straight again, leaving the wheel off center again. Car seems to track straight and steering wheel was perfectly centered before bringing in for DCT replacement. My question is, Is it normal for dealer to realign wheels after the replacement as a lot of rear parts have to be removed to facilitate the repair? Anyone have a similar problem?
Don't ask for a wheel alignment. Call and tell them the car doesn't go straight down the road like it used to before the tranny replacement. Let them determine that an alignment is needed. If you ask for one, they will have you pay for it.
This is the approach new owners have used to get Chevy to pay for a proper alignment.

Went to the dealer today to get my one year oil and filter change. Only has 1200 miles on it but digital counter said oil life is zero. Paid for this one so next July I’ll get the GM freebie. They checked the alignment and found one rear wheel was toed out to much. They redid the alignment and all seems good now. Wonder if they actually did an alignment after tranny was changed? Glad it’s been rectified. Thanks for all your responses.
Good for you... GREAT! That's as it should have been before your car left the shop after the swap. I can guarantee they did NOT do an alignment before you complained... or, it would have been fixed then. Many (if not most) will do the very least possible and "assume" the owner doesn't know any better. Besides, its far easier to only deal with the few who raise a stink. Sorry, but true.

The OLM (Oil Life Monitor) includes time as one of the factors. It will read zero at 12 months even if it is not driven at all.
