Default Hacked?

I was recently hacked to include my cell phones, computers, and possibly my infotainment system in my 2022 Corvette.

Can anyone confirm that there is such a thing in the infotainment licenses called Kernel and other lines using the word root in it? See below:

Root is the superuser account of any Unix/Linux based operating system. Kernel is the system core. Nothing wrong per se with either. The hackers may have used tge root account or compromised the kernel on the other hacks, but just from the presence of these terms it can not be concluded that anything nefarious took place.

"Root" is a type of access. Having root access means you have the ability to make changes to whatever you have root access too.
"Kernel" is the core of the operating system, for example, it is what checks if a user had root access to a file to make changes or not.

I doubt that your corvette was hacked. While not out of the realm of the possible, I haven't heard of it happening yet, and the ECU is encrypted to hell. Is anything anomalous happening with your vette?

So should they be part of my infotainment update history? Is Linux and kernel used in the infotainment operating system

The answers you have been given are spot on. Maybe Chevrolet can reflash your system.

Can anyone confirm that there is such a thing in the update history of the infotainment system called Kernel. It appears as my last update and several updates prior to that that use the word “root” both of which have everything to do with the current hacks on my other devices…

The picture you added to your original post is NOT the update history you state. You are displaying the Licenses for the software. My 2020 displays licenses differently, so I can't compare. Maybe somebody with a 2022 and snap a picture of their Infotainment Licenses and put your mind at ease.

We would hope if something is included with a car (and if potentially hackable) GM would be able to straighten it out for you.

Here it is from a 2021, and it is normal.
The first screen shows I have no new updates. The second one shows the About menu.. The third one shows what happens when I select the update item from the About menu and it shows the one and only update I ever had. The last one shows the list when I select Infotainment Licenses in the About menu.
