Default HTC problem

Had a problem with my HTC. Went to put top up and noticed over my right shoulder that it was not closing properly. Turned out that the right/passenger side rear speaker was not retracting and was keeping the motor cover from closing as it should. Took to local dealer and they discovered a broken cable that pulls that speaker back inside the panel. Cable to be ordered. They tie wrapped the speaker to its stop bracket and put the top up so I can drive it until cable comes in. Hope tech has some training on the HTC. Dealer said this was first problem they have seen with HTC. Anyone else have any problems?

There are threads on this problem. And I don't thing it is a speaker but a cosmetic "ear".

I have found the thread and the pics show exactly what occurred to me on passenger side. Thanks for mentioning. Will show to tech when I take car back in for repair.

Best of luck getting the car repaired and hope there is no delay in parts availability.

I don't recall the problem thread, but you might like to give the tech a copy of it in advance so he can think it over a bit. It may look exactly the same but be just slightly different than your actual issue. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

There are a number of threads here about HTC problems. An "Advanced search" across the C8 Forum should dredge up some. That said, a couple I seem to recall had to do with paint being scratched from raising or lowering the top because of faulty alignment of parts, or some such. At least, you didn't seem to have that ugly issue! All the best.
