i would always have Z51 and MAG RIDE, PDR, 2LT seems enough but I have seen lots and lots of C8s without MAG RIDE even Z51s and I don't get the 1LT. Was it the money or was it the way to get a car quicker but that doesn't even ring true by what I read here on wait times. Curious. I haven't ordered a car because frankly it would drive me and my wife crazy waiting 12-18 months and the low mileage used car cars are just outrageous.NO WAY!!

Anything can be added later with enough time or money.

Yes, but the amount of money would be impractical and possibly exceed the cost of the car. While the hardware can be installed the computer won't recognize NPP or MSRC so either the system will need to be cracked (which hasn't happened so far and those modules probably wouldn't be a top priority) or the different controlling modules would need to be replaced and convinced to communicate with each other.

Yep, cheaper to get an aftermarket exhaust, most except Borla have models that can work without the added NPP controls.

For NPP best to trade the car for one with it!

I have been fortunate to meet members with 1LT a very base model and a 3LT fully loaded and drove all three models.
The base car is quite good, and not much difference while driving, however there are a few features the 2LT has that make is a very refined supercar,
the options of Magride I did not find noticeable but have it. The front lift I have but barely use it (you must know where the bumps are anyway so ...)
Features of 2LT that I find great are:
  • Bose® Performance Series 14-Speaker Audio System I thought the base model stereo was good till I heard this one !!!
  • Performance Data Recorder will come in handy in case of accident
  • Power-Folding Mirrors I use this everyday Automatic when exiting.
  • Rear Camera Mirror† – Coupe and Convertible. How do people see out the rear when backing???
  • Memory Drive and Passenger Convenience Package. Puts seats where you want them for easy ingress/egress
  • HD Curb View Camera†Side Blind Zone Alert†Rear Cross Traffic Alert†. Stops crashes when changing lanes
3LT is required for some cosmetic items such as 2-tone seats but I did not need them.
If I was to redo my config: I would get the 2LT convertible and skip the Magride and Front Lift unless the stock exchange was rocking.

You can select 2-tone seat option with 2LT...

When I hear 'senior citizen' I immediately guide them toward LT2 simply for the memory seating if for no other reason. It makes getting into and out of the car far easier. Nothing sadder than an old dude that finally treats himself to a sports car but then just spends 10 years looking at it in his garage because he can't get in or out of it.

I just sold our 01 Trans Am WS6. I had to fall in and out of it. I will crawl in my C8 when it arrives in a few weeks!

FWIW, the large center structural tunnel in the C8 allowed them to use smaller, lower side chassis members than the C7 (and some prior Vettes.) I find getting in and out easier than my prior two C7s and C6, as does my wife.

Frankly for all ages, but especially older folks, smart to stretch every day. Develop a routine and stick with it! I do and at 80 occasionally get in and out of mine with seats in driving position (with car running and don't bother to move from my driving position.) BUT my 3LT (as the 2LT) make it easier. Seat front and rear up as high as possible. Seat fully back and steering wheel up max.
