Steering Column Lock

I have a 2020 HTC. My steering column does not appear to lock. I also have a 2021 Tahoe, it does have a steering column lock. I went through the owner's manual, no luck.

Does the C8 have a steering column lock? Or is mine just not working?

Nope, none of them do. The federal regulation requires either a steering column lock or a transmission lock. I guess since you can't get the transmission out of park without the engine running counts as a transmission lock.

Surprise!

Open the door and start to get in with the all the FOB out of range. The interior intrusion warning sound is deafening. You don't need a steering lock. Ear plugs maybe?

I wasn't really worried about theft, as much as I was curious as I had two GM products essentially the same age and they were different on having steering locks. I wanted to make sure, I didn't have some kind of failure that might be a problem after my warranty runs out.

No steering lock. I'm glad to hear that. Back in the C4 era, there were problems with the key and the steering column would not unlock. C5 had some issues also.
