Default New MRR Wheels

Since the wait for my ZO6 looks like it's going to be a lot longer then I expected when I laid down my deposit 2 1/2 years ago I decided to do the next best thing. I bought a set of the MRR ZO6 replica wheels. What a difference in the look, not only in the wheels themselves but the overall 'stance' with the greater offset. Darren at MRR was great to work with and the quality of the wheels is outstanding! If anyone is thinking of a set of these I only have one word of caution. If you bought the stud extenders to aid in mounting they won't work with the MRR's. When trying to remount, the wheels would not go all the way on and it seemed like they were hitting something. Turned out the extender's diameter, half way down, (they are tapered),are slightly larger then the stud holes.

That is a good looking wheel. Goes great with the car.

What are "stud extenders" and why do you need them?

They allow you to slide the wheel off and on in a straight line motion to keep from chipping the brake caliper paint (or rotors if they're ceramic carbon).

I love those wheels and no need for wheel spacers because the offset is fantastic! Great company to deal with too!

I had a set of three lug extenders which I used with my OEM wheels but when I replaced the wheels with MRR I found that the holes in the new wheels were too small to accommodate the extenders. I found a link here on the Forum for the ZL1 Add-ons "Magassist wheel mounting assistance" which work perfectly and are even easier to use than the three lug extenders, especially for remounting the wheels. The only downside is that for removing the wheels it would be necessary to remove the center caps. I have no problem removing the wheels without using the assist but the ease of putting them back on makes it worthwhile for me. This will also work with the OEM wheels and is faster and easier than the lug extenders.

The holes are approximately 1/16" diameter too small so I seriously considered reaming them out to the correct size but figured I better leave well enough alone. I DO have one of these tire/wheel dollies and even without the stud extenders it makes the job MUCH easier.....especially with an 'old man back'!

I have the same wheels. MRR 024 with grey metallic finish and machined faces. Take standard OEM center caps, TPMS and tires. I had my car at Corvettes at Carlisle and had to leave the car as I was inundated with questions and discussion about the wheels!

Here is a video link I took there too:

Yes, they're the M024 'Machine Face Gunmetal Gray'. $1,899 free shipping and lug nuts included. They're the same size as the O.E.M.'s and they accept the Corvette center caps. Carlos and Darren were very helpful and accommodating.

I'm going to have to pick up one of those. What did you find was the easiest way to remove the center cap with the wheel still on the car so you could install the Mag Assist?

Tried the credit card trick...worked great! Just ordered a Mag Assist and the timing was perfect. They discounted $6.71 for a 'Labor Day Sale'. Thanks for the tip @Chuck Mahnke
