Plenty documentation on any problems here on the forum, but there are not many prevalent issues. I’ve had no issues with my ‘22 Z51 HTC. I loved my C7Z and only miss the manual trans. Everything else about the C8 is better in every way.

Just read the first 4 or 5 pages of this forum and you will get the gist. Here's a summary:
Some Tranny problems
Paint peeling
Some with water in the passenger floor board
Over the air update issues
Endless small complaints from a select group of fickle forum members
Some believe valve covers will melt if they get water on them. Some don't believe.....
HTC Coupe
Z51 Non-Z51 debate
Lots of options - everyone had their opinions and you'll need to form yours because it's your check.

Welcome to the forum..Happy for you taking delivery of you car soon..I have a 2020 and I cannot believe it's 3 years old already!..First mods for me were the front radiator screens, Paint Protection film ,and ceramic coating. I had boxes in the garage with parts while waiting for the car!..Interior carpet liners, and frunk and rear carpet liners went in.Tinted side windows next..I'm hooked on Carbon fiber, so I've been adding pieces from the get go!...It's a sickness!! that I love!!..Congratulations again, and enjoy your car...
Forms are good as they pick out issues and help answer questions and discuss problems. What we all need to remember that these posts represent a small number of the cars produced. So lets say GM produced 25K C8's each year so after 2 1/2 years we have 70 or 80K cars on the road. So out of that number how many have posted their problems (if they had any) on this form. The only way you can know reliability issues is by the data that GM collects. Usually the real issues come out with GM TSB or recalls. Look at these bulletins and see what the issues are.
.. Wanted to see what previous C7 owners felt or if they wish they hadn't.
...
Every DD I had for 63 years prior to my C8 was a standard shift. Had a 2014 C7 Z51 and a 2017 C7 Grand Sport, loved shifting.
It's 2 years with the C8 and its Tremec DCT- would never go back.
So you're not disappointed that it's too "civilized," as some complain, start off on the right foot (pun intended) and drive in Z Mode Power set to Track, the way it comes. If you have MRC can set that where you want but I use Sport for our relatively good roads in NE SC. And use your right foot like it's a sports car not a grandma's grocery getter!
It won't shift to 6th until about 72 mph and won't go in V4. Once you understand what it can do drive in whatever mode you'd like when just cruising. Or like me use the upshift paddle and shift to a higher gear. BTW, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th are all overdrive ratios. Great for GM to get maximum EPA test mpg but you don't have to use them all!
Here is a good video by a member who shows why he ONLY drives in Z Mode:
I'm in the minority in that I miss the manual so much I've got one in the pipeline to replace the C8. My challenge is that 95% of the time I cannot hammer the car. I don't drive like a race driver everywhere I go and don't think the average driver does either. But with a manual for me it is a lot more fun driving in normal conditions and pushing through the gears.. Yea there's those paddle shifters but that's like a video game to me.
What is more challenging with the C8 is it is less an everyday car then prior generations, mainly because of less trunk and interior room. It was more convenient to store items in the hatch or behind the seats with prior models.
I carry a couple of hats with me...... when a passenger gets in...... there is no where to put even a hat.
Here's a tip assuming you're buying a new C8 from the dealer....
Take the Ron Fellows Corvette Owners Course that GM subsidies. In my opinion it is mandatory, especially for the price, and I can almost guarantee you will love it.
