A fella that I work with is buying a 2023 Stingray after work today and he was asking me a few questions about some things he was told by the salesperson he is working with.
The first thing was that there is no 500 mile break in on 2023 Stingrays so he does not need to worry about keeping the rpms below a specified limit.
The other thing is the car does not have front lift and the salesman told him that it doesn't need that because the suspension system monitors what is ahead of the car and adjusts as necessary.
I had no answer for either of these things. I read thru the first page of this forum each day and can't recall seeing anything about that. I went to the Chevy website and tried to find an answer to either question but did not.
Sounds like a salesperson who doesn't know what he/she is talking about. There are no announced mechanical changes to the C8, just a few new cosmetic options.
Point your friend to the 2023 owners manual and the build and price tool online, where he can see for himself the salesperson doesn't know what he's talking about.
I am always amazed at how many times in Corvette world the buyer knows more about the car than the seller! I hope their service department is more knowledgeable!!
I've found over the years that too many sales folks just make things up in order to avoid appearing uneducated about the product they are trying sell. They don't want to say, "I don't know, but I'll find out," which is what they should do, better yet get educated on everything they sell. I suspect 90+% of the time, they get away with it because the customer is clueless as well.
With the exception of pros like Mike Furman, I've known more the vehicles I was interested in than the sales staff, because I did the research BEFORE contemplating a purchase.
This car is new with 2 miles on it. It arrived last week and it just finished getting prepped.
The dealer got a letter from GM about ADM so they have reduced it to 10 percent
It's a 2LT , silver flare with two tone red/black interior like mine
I just went to the website and looked at the sticker. Z51 with mag ride but no front lift
Says it was 94,775 but to call for the dealer pricing info...
It all sounds like common sales person bull****. I've bought and sold (traded in) many cars and have run across a lot of sales people like this. Now I don't give them the time of day.
I told him to verify anything he is told, not to take anything the sales person says as gospel and to be sure to read the owners manual. I said go over the break in procedures right away so you don't get off to a bad start. I also told him that sales people like this often make promises they never plan to stick to so if any promises made are important that are important to the deal get them written down and signed.
I also recommended the forum here to learn about the car as well. It amazes me how many people don't do their own research. There's a lot of sheeple out there...
It's a nice car. He just needs to get past the miss-information .
Both are untrue.
The "salesman" is mixing fact with fiction.
Does Mag ride change the ride height? No.
Does Mag ride change firmness? Yes
Doesn't sound like the saleshack was referring to Magride at all, but to perhaps to other continual monitoring suspension systems available on other high-performance auto brands.
... or the auto leveling headlights (which, of course, only come with the front lift option)."
Hey, I just learned something new. I did not know about the headlights, umm, or I had forgotten
Never heard of Fat Tree NM. I'll have to look it up. Things in Alamogordo are pretty good right now. Starting to cool down from the crazy summer heat that hit 100 in April!

I would stay away from this salesman at all costs! What an idiot.
Why avoid him? If he offers the best deal, go for it. I try to never engage car salespeople. I won't even ask them the store's hours since it would betray the fact that I don't realize that anything they say is either a lie or in their best interest. If you want info about the car, read the owners manual and/or visit the forum.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
