Trying to understand the flipper market from the prospective of the seller. It seems to me most cars that are intended to be flipped are purchased are ordered near to lowest cost possible from an MSRP dealer and then re sold at what ever price the market will allow. I am assuming that they all have been titled and registered, sales tax paid for the state registered in and insured while working through the resale process. If a well seasoned reseller was getting on multiple MSRP lists and placing an order for a dedicated flipper, what is the spec that represent best bang for the buck / margin to be made?
1LT coupe, red with black interior and zero options? ROI target that makes it worth the effort?
A quick check of BaT auctions definitely shows the market cooling off for the C8. Lots of Reserve not met, Lots of cars selling just over the MSRP, by less than 5-10K. That's not a flippers market after you pay tax title and license.

Not including the BAT fee of about $5K. Interestingly a number of these cars have had 2 or more owners prior to this sale.

Definitely accelerate yellow, red interior and chrome rims. Definitely a hot combo,
Why not ask your selling dealer for some pointers…or figure it out yourself?

I think that your assumptions are pretty accurate - buy low (MSRP) and sell at a much higher profit - makes perfect sense for the seller. If I were a buyer, the 2LT package would be what I would be looking for. However, I have no intention of spending more than MSRP (and eventually hopefully less) to get a C8. I will say there are many people that will pay above MSRP just to not have to wait the 12 or more months it takes to order and receive a car.
Auctions such as BaT will typically yield the least for sellers. It's more about having contacts / knowing where to sell. To be a successful fisherman you have to go where the fish are.
I've sold two C8s to date and the best one was a 20 2LT coupe Z51 which I netted $25k over (above taxes etc).
The second one was a 21 1LT HTC with standalone mag ride at $19k over (above taxes etc.).
Both cars were my daily drivers and had over 15,000 kms on them when sold so I can only imagine what new would have brought. But in Canada we get blacklisted if sold within a year and not met 12,000 kms.
I can relate to the post above from CamsC8. I too had a 20 that when I got it in 12/20 was offered 12K over msrp. I thought no you cant drive money and kept it. 6 months later when that number went to almost 23K and the car had 4K miles on it and the 21s were out I said I'll take the money.
That was June 21, and by year end I had the opportunity to buy 2 22 models. I ordered a HTC and still have it. Also ordered a 2LT with the most popular options and colors. Car came in and I flipped it for a $17K profit. This was early in 22 and I suspect the market is finally cooling.
I'm fortunate to only pay $500 in sales tax but if I was in another state the 7 8 % sales tax would dent any flipper profits.
I recently bought a 21 with 700 miles for about $1k over MSRP, but it was the only one I could find. Most around here are still about $10k over, or at least that's what they're asking. My hometown has a dealer who's still charging $25k over.
There were a couple of C8s with the “C8.R” cosmetic packages that sold at Mecum last year for $300k. What is that, a $190,000 profit? That was probably the best outcome, as those cars were limited to 1,000 copies I think, and yet we’re not all that expensive at MSRP. There were also low optioned 1LTs selling for $100,000-150,000…not bad at all.
Those first few Z06 buyers will seriously have life changing profit potential with their cars, IMHO. If a C8.R is $300,000, what is a truly rare supercar like a Z06 worth to the collector that needs one right now? I think $500,000 is not going to be unusual. Maybe something even more crazy. This Z06 will also be more rare than generations before, most likely, which will only further justify the cost of admission to some people.
Ordered a 2023 3LT in April got it in June. Offered $20K above MSRP before it got to my driveway. Didn't buy it to flip it, just enjoying the car right now, till ZO6 comes.in.
With winter coming and stock market crashing prices are dropping, play money is drying up, depending on cash flow I would think some flippers are starting to worry. Was a good jig while it lasted but it too shall pass.
Friends knew of the order placed and then timely delivery. An older friend asks if I would be willing to sell upon delivery. Doesn't want to go through what most go through to order a car.

I may be mistaken but I believe sellers fee for BAT is only $250. I suppose one could go to BAT website to determine what it really is.
You are correct. I recently sold a C5 on BaT and the seller fee was nominal (I paid a little extra for professional pictures) and the buyer paid a percentage of the sales price to BaT (I believe they cap it at a certain amount). I was quite happy with the process & result but I also believe it’s not the best place to sell a C8 unless it’s a special edition.
