I went through my final order with my dealership (out of state) last week and I am first in line for the next HTC allocation. My specialist informed me that I MAY or MAY NOT get the museum delivery option. He said in the past they have had those orders inadvertently show up at the dealership. This kind of popped the excitement balloon for me as I really wanted the full experience for this purchase.
Are there limited spots for the NCM Delivery option?
Is this a ploy by the dealership to get me into their dealership so they can bombard me with "add-ons"?
So far the dealership has been very straight forward with me. I did let them know that the NCM delivery was a very KEY part of this order.
Besides selecting option R8C, the dealer has to enter a ship to BAC of 184590. Failure to do that will result in the car being shipped to the dealer.
One would think that after the first oversight where a car intended to be delivered to the Museum showed up at the dealer instead, then the software would be revised so that when option R8C is chosen, the "ship to defaults" to the museum.
I would bet that happened because the person putting in the order forgot to select the correct option.
I have never heard of that kind of mistake before, and after going through the process, there are multiple checkpoints where you can confirm the order is entered correctly.
Also, if for some weird reason you checked the order and verified that the option was selected, and you paid the extra $1000 to get museum delivery, and the car just "showed up" at the dealership instead, then Chevrolet would be paying to ship it right back up to Bowling Green so I could take delivery where I paid to take delivery.
Can anyone actually confirm this has happened ever??

Ship to BAC is also used to signify a Courtesy Delivery dealer. If there is no Ship to BAC, it ships to the selling dealer.

Bumped, as I'm still curious whether Museum Delivery, and the associated "Ship to BAC" should appear on an order that is ostensibly signed off by the buyer. Looking at MD off in the future...

I wnet back and looked at my OrderWorkbench and it does not display the "Ship to BAC". I questioned MacMulkin about this and this is their reply:
The order was inputted with the BAC for the Corvette Museum. This will not show on your copy but I can assure you it appears on our copy. Further more, in GM's system if the Museum delivery is listed on an order, it will not go through without having the Museum's BAC code entered.

Thoughts??
OP, there is no constraint (limit) currently on NCM delivery. Your dealer is feeding you a line. Your "Ploy" comment may be spot on. They can't force any add-ons when they never get possession of the car.
I think I got it straightened out. I called the sales Manager and he went through the whole order again and then he sent me a screenshot of the order which showed the Museum delivery and the BAC 184590. I am now confident that I will be getting exactly what I have ordered. He said I should have my allocation next week.

The BAC code number for NCM has to be entered as you have above.
