Can anyone tell me what rev/10000 means and how it works?

If it's what I think you're referencing, it's rev x 1000, meaning if you're Tac shows "6" you're at 6000rpm.

Are you asking about the Engine Hours/Lifetime Revs dispaly? If so, it shows total engine revolutions
divided by 10,000.

What Kent said. Multiply the number by 10,000 to see the total number of crankshaft revolutions since the car was first started.

It would provide a good indication of whether the miles on a car were road miles or town miles, but I have no idea how an individual would be able to judge that based on the reading . Perhaps this will be of value to GM.

The same screen displaying lifetime revs also displays engine hours.
