Have a friend who was experiencing shift problems. Took it in to the local Chevy house and they said that:
The shift forks were gunked up and preventing proper shifting. They used a non-invasive technique to vibrate the shift forks to basically "shake the crud off". He has the car back and says it's shifting as well as ever.

Anyone heard of this problem/fix? New one on me.
I never heard of a problem with the C8 described that way. What has been reported is that there may be debris accumulated in transmission control valves, that are actuated by solenoids. There is a "hydraulic system flush" procedure that manipulates those solenoids with a goal of freeing the debris which then moves to the transmission fluid external canister filter. Some report that the filter is then changed.
