Default quick wing question!

Hey all, after selling my '21 Im missing it too much so im looking at replacing it with a '22 2LT. (looks like its going to be a couple years before my new order arrives..)

problem is it has the low spoiler which im not a fan of. Does anyone know if the mounting is the same on the low as the high wing? Thx in advance

They use the same 4 holes. I think the high wing includes some extra bracing, but imaging that's included with the purchase of the high wing.

Be careful removing the low spoiler. There have been reports of paint coming off at the mounting points during removal of the existing spoiler.

On a related note, as many know, the high wing is currently on constraint. I had to drop it from my build in order to get an allocation, but plan to order one separately. So the questions are, is the wing through the parts department also under constraint at this point, or are parts basically a different “wing” of GM than the manufacturing arm?

Any recommendations of where to order it?

i just removed my low z51 spoiler, it came right off easily. I put some wd40 between and wedged carefully a pry tool and pulled it right off. (After talking off the bolts and stuff of course)

Same vendor but some may be in parts warehouse when they are not at BG. For my 2020 it was constrained within 2 weeks of my build. I wasn't charged and due to confusion on my part thought I was getting a black Z51 wing with my Log Beach Red C8. First time I realized in was body colored was when CD dealer service manage uncovered from white plastic!

Very few LBR Vette pics on forum (or built) in the early 2020 shipments. This one had black wing, which I didn't like. Ordered the high wing and only pics I looked at while waiting for mine were from what I built on the GM build website. It had a high wing. When constrained ~2 weeks before my build selling dealer called and said you won't be charged. Thought I'd buy aftermarket. Had not seen the fact that black wings only come when you buy black mirrors. Thought wing color was based on specific body color! Plus this pic on forum, one of the few LBR at the time showed Black Wing with Body colored mirrors. May have been a prototype.

Took pics while service manager and CD dealer's son removed my GM white plastic.

First time I saw my Z51 wing was body colored! Wife and I love it so no aftermarket high wing!

Does the regular Z51 spoiler (not the low one but the standard one) also have paint issues when removing it?

Yep, same issue and GM warning even for the dealer install as an option. Fixing paint removed CANNOT be put on warranty!

Since I was planning to install an aftermarket high wing, I made this draft PDF that has details from the best video found that shows how to remove the rear bumper. You can also see with all the bolts involved NOT EASY to just snug, assume the alignment is right and then tighten. Getting all gaps right is an issue. Includes link to video and GM's warning re removal:

Wow it says that even when done properly you can still see where the initial spoiler was because the bases are slightly longer than the high wing spoiler bases. Has anyone here experienced that?
