My 2021 Coupe is just over a year old with just over 6,000 miles. I must say that I am disappointed in the number of small pinpoint "nicks" in the windshield. Is the glass extra soft? Fortunately, the aerodynamics seems to keep the offending material from affecting the paint, but in the right light I can see a dozen or so little pinpoint spots on the windshield. When they don't clean off I use my fingernail to confirm they are defects in the glass. If it gets bad enough I will have it replaced by insurance, but just wondering if this is a common issue. BTW, I do not drive on gravel or rough roads, just normal pavement.

Seems like a lot of automotive glass chips easily. I have a few small nicks in my C7 windshield and my DD has the same. Even a small rock will put a chip in the glass.
I haven’t noticed this too much with my C8 but did on my C7. Then again, I make a habit of staying far back from vehicles ahead of me because I don’t want pebbles dinging the radiator fins.

Its the defective glass GM is using. My windshield is full of what I call sparkles that have been there since day one driving it off the dealers lot.
Every newer car has the same issue. The softer safety glass commonly used now is very prone to micro-chipping, and complaints about “sparkles” in the glass are on every online forum. It's an almost universal issue, and I have not seen any solutions.
In the right light, every car's windshield is going to look like its been sandblasted after a few years. Pretty much unavoidable unless you practice extra distance away from cars and trucks ahead of you.
I have the same issue with my '07. I've tried a few "fixes" with not much luck. I guess what has worked best for me is cleaning the windshield really well (finishing with 0000 steel wool) and applying Rain-X. Maybe the Rain-X slightly fills the tiny chips or rounds off the sharp edges so they don't reflect as much.
And Stan there’s a dude on the island was that puts it on, $500. Had it on my 20 works great. Talked to the racing P club out of Charleston, they swear by it.
There’s no avoiding it, believe me. Every Corvette I’ve had….. 😥
