on the hud in sport mode the hud shows 2 different g-force displays. one on the left, the other on the right.
i can't find anything in any of the manuals for an explanation.
I haven't looked at that lately, but if memory serves one is lateral acceleration (cornering side loads) and the other is forward acceleration and braking.

Left & right, depending on the direction you're turning. I actually just double-checked it this morning for you to ensure I am correct.
As in aside, . My g-force meters are NOT calibrated correctly. .. Driving in a straight line on a flat road, it will show between .01 and .03 to the right. On a very slight turn to the left I can get .01 reading on both left and right AT THE SAME TIME!. Don't know if there's anything to be done about it, but I'll mention it at the next service.
Mine are rarely zero'd either, typically 0.01 to the right on a flat/straight road (have tested both lanes so it's not a crown issue). Report back and let us know if the dealership can recalibrate them under warranty.
You will never have a truly 0 G-load when the car is in motion. Most roads are graded for water drainage so you will always have a higher load (even if practically nothing) on the side closest shoulder\median. Also you will have the g-load created from the engine turning over.
