Default Window Tint

What are everyones thoughts on window tint? Ive got an appointment for next Wednesday. Thinking Im just going to do the sides, definitely not the rear windshield (over engine) but wondering if theres a need to do the rear vertical glass... Im thinking its not necessary, not a lot of light gets in there.

I got 35% on sides and on the glass over the engine. Looks great. I was hesitant to hide the engine, but they did it for free, and now that I have it, I love it. You can still see it, just a little stealthy. Get the premium level tint. It stops the sun from baking you and the interior, plus it looks clear looking out from the inside.

I did 20% on the sides and left the back window alone(on the convertible), didn't really wanna overlap the 70th anniversary stuff. If I had the coupe I might consider it. The engine isn't exactly a looker without modifications.

any pics of the 35 on the back glass? How'd the tint do over the defroster lines and other textures?

I know the engine compartment isn't as pretty as it could be... but seeing the engine sitting back there is one of the coolest parts of the C8 ,and a couple of simple add ons do a good job of adding to the wow factor.

did clear on the front that is supposed to block like 98% of UV. Seems to work here in Texas.

Boy that premium is well worth the money and not that more expensive. Wife has a big black suv, dudes talked her into Xpel top shelf stuff. I thought tho I did not say, you got hosed. They did every window even the factory tinted windows. Absolutely amazing how much it helps.

Even more important for our easy to chip easy to pit windshields is exoshield. Think a tear off like nascar that protects your windshield.

Hi All,
Good afternoon. Just another day in Paradise. I did just the side windows. Also, just put on the short black carbon flash side skirts.

Looks great. Mine was just built yesterday but i plan on ceramic tint of 5% on the sides and rear behind the seats. Nothing over the engine. Also going to do 50% on the windshield for glare and heat.

HI,
Good evening. Just another day in Paradise. The dark side windows help join the side windows to the black panel behind the side window. I am in MO so have not had an issue with the sun through the windshield. Even with the regular rear view mirror the view is about the same as the C7 was. The camera rear view mirror is big and bright and takes some getting used to. Nice car, hope you get it soon.

Don't have a C8, but if I did, i think I would do the sides (35% is legal here) and maybe the same on the rear over the engine bay.

Did the sides, a brow on the windshield, and nothing on the back - no way I'd cover up the best feature of the car.

For those preferring to stay legal in your state, don't forget to have your installer test with a light meter. The C8 glass is already lightly tinted, so if your state says 35% max, and you put 35% on it, you will be in the illegal zone.

We went with the top shelf XPEL Ceramic, and the way things measured out and to stay legal, we had to go with 50%. The great thing about the premium ceramic tints is that level of darkness has no bearing on the amount of IR and UV reduction, which is 95% and above even with optically clear film.

We had several months this past summer with no tint, and after tint, the heat reduction was dramatic.
