Default Inconsistent Steering wheel memory reset

I have found it that the steering wheel and seat memory settings do not often get triggered especially when starting car from inside-more often but not always if I use remote start then mostly it resets to my preferred interior settings. Has anyone else encountered this or have I just messed up settings somehow?? Far from huge deal but really the ONLY complaint I have with C8 as minor a complaint as it is!

No problems with mine. If you've programmed the exit position, make sure the seat is not all the way back. That apparently messes with the proximity sensors behind the seat, and messes up the seat memory. If that's not it, do you have the same issue with both fobs?

I've found it not to work every time, BUT... the pattern in having it not function is that I've left the door open for some period of time before the next restart, i.e. The last it happened I got out to fill with fuel and left the door open the entire time. When I DID get back in, nothing reset., neither the steering wheel, not the seats. That was not the first time that it didn't go back, but since I noticed that correlation, it hasn't happened again, as I shut the door promptly after exiting.

Interesting to hear if others have had THAT experience.

Yes, I have had that. But I don't consider that a bug. The car has no way of knowing you got out and got back in. As far as it's concerned, when you opened the door you got out, and then eventually closed the door. Only if you open and close the door again will it think you've gotten back in.

I have come to realize that whenever I get gas, if I leave the door open; when I get back in and start the car, none of my settings are triggered(mirror, heads up display, seat, etc...). Now I take the keys out of the car and shut the door(scared to shut the door with the keys still inside). Not sure why it does that, I assume it is bug.

I programmed the exit position so my seat is all the way back and the back of the seat is leaned back as far as it will go. I've had zero issues when I get in it having my settings to drive it go to the correct position.

This was a problem on the C7s. I have my exit position set about 1/2" from all the way back, so I've never tested to see if it's a problem on the C7, but figured it was a possibility.

Well, if you drive with the seat all the way back, it's not like you need it to move forward when you get in the car.

Not a bug. See the post directly above yours.

That's true but easier if steering wheel retracts and lifts!!!

But if you are pressing the start button to start the car back up, then how does it not know that you got back in? In other words, you can't press the actual start button and not be in the car. Also it knows if the key fob is in or out of the car; so it knows that key fob never left the car when it starts back up as well.

I found two conditions when the seat memory exits do not return to Driver setting position:
1. As mentioned, if you leave the door open and just get back in the seats do not reposition.
2. If you shutoff the car and open the door but do not get out (is just sit there) and just close the door the seats do not reposition.

First times this happened I wondered if something was wrong but concluded then realized that is the door must be closed and reopened.
Now if I leave the door open or don't get out I just press "1"
