I assume you read the owner's manual statement about that? Says store at 20 deg F or higher. But then it says if they get below 20 deg let them warm up for 24 hours before driving on them, or installing them. This might suggest (to some) that its ok if they get colder, as long as they are not disturbed. I personally would take steps to insure that they did not get below 20 deg F.
Tires will be fine in storage. Ideally maybe move it every month or two just so they aren't sat on the same spot the whole time, but you shouldn't have to worry much if you aren't driving it in crazy cold.
