My wife sold her 2017 to get a 2023 convert., so when I went to plug in the Uniden radar detector, I found the only 12-volt plug under the front hood. I had to remove the glove box to get to the fuse box, but from there I didnt see an easy way to bring 12 volts across the center console. I use the Uniden's long range unit. Has anyone found a solution for the lack of 12-volt accessory ports?
You can do a Blendmount and tap into the mirror or what I did was tap the fusebox under the dash, come up behind the passenger a Pillar and across behind the headliner and mine sits behind my visor, its perfect and I don't have anything in the way of my mirror controls.
The blendmount works great for the C8. Its mount is higher and doesn’t block any view like the previous generations. The cap on the mirror pops of very easy as well for the wire tap.
Be aware that there is a TSB about side mirror problems when tapping the wiring harness at the rear view mirror and GM may not warranty a side view mirror problem if it happens. At least one person has had this problem even though they tapped the proper wires per the Blendmount instructions.

There are aftermarket brackets available if you don't want to make your own.
I believe this was due to some tapping the wrong ground wire. If one is going to mount low on the dash the 12v plug under the dash is probably the easiest route.

In the post I saw the poster said they tapped the correct wires. Perhaps just a coincidence that the mirror went bad but still something you have to deal with if you bring it in for warranty repair.

These mirrors have failed in the exact same way in other GM cars, including cars that never saw a radar detector. This TSB is GM trying to cut warranty costs.
I bought an $11 cigarette plug radar detector cord and $5 radar visor clip from Amazon. Plug the cord in under the glove box, route the wire under the carpet and weather seal up the pillar/across the top, drop it down over the visor and plug it in.
Two solutions.
First Method: I tapped the rear-view mirror for power. No issues IF you use the Blendmount instructions. I also use their wiretap kit (better than cheap ones.) BUT like my two C7's don't like the detector hanging under the mirror so I use ESCORT "Sticky Mount" and had mounted high to right of the mirror. See pics and Blendmount wiring instructions.
Second Method: System shown worked fine for 2 years. Then had a TV Center Mirror issue (not related to the mirror tap.) Tech replaced the mirror, periodic failure still exists. So waiting for time to have the camera replaced (which hopefully will solve that issue.)
However, when installing the new mirror, Tech had to remove my wiretap. While waiting for the issue to be fixed I am using what I had before I installed the Bleadmount wiretap. The detector is mounted low on the windshield with the ESCORT supplied "Sticky Mount" and their power receptacle with coiled cord. I like the position!
So I will hard wire as shown schematically in pic below. Already have wired the right-angle plug. Those wires will mount in a 1/4 inch wide "D" molding with 3M tape under the passenger dash than hidden behind the dash molding and to the Detector.
Used this arrangement for 2 years. Use this wiretap arrangement and all is fine with door mirrors.
BUT I like my temporary connection to the power receptacle under the passenger dash. To keep the permanent wires from interfering with the passenger's feet, bought a right-angle plug. Have already wired the Philmore No 48-785 right angle plug. Detector will now mount low on the windshield.
Will use a 1/4-inch wide rubber "D" molding with 3M tape backing to hold wires under the passenger dash (used it for my 2014 C7 radar detector install.)
