Crushed makes 100% sense to those that disagree. No different than car insurance. Maybe some that claim or have never had an accident, but ... you do it just in case. Likewise here, the cost of removal is less than if something were to happen or develop later with any of these parts. "

I'm willing to bet all of those are EX VIN cars that are not legal for sale or for use for purposes other than testing. Parts from those cars may not be legal to sell, as many were never certified as meeting federal standards. If GM just let those go to salvage yards, and one of them showed up on the road, GM could have legal liability. And the buyer would probably be unhappy when he discovered he couldn't title or register it.
