Default Key Fobs

I have a 22 C8 HTC. When I'm in the car with my key fob #1 everything is set. When my wife gets in the car with her key fob in her pocketbook it switches it over to her key fob. If I pull into the garage and she's on the phone in the house I can hear her conversation in the car. When that happens she can no longer speak on her phone because it switched over to the car. How can I stop this from happening?
Thanks

I can't remember where it's shown in the manual, but in the 'Settings' you can pick which fob has priority so if they're both in the car together the one you picked will override the other. At some point your wife's fob was set as the 'priority' fob.

EDIT: I went thru the manual and couldn't find anything to confirm that so maybe I'm incorrect.....senior moment??

Typically, it will use whichever fob was detected first. On the phone, make sure hers is not set as the "First to connect".

If multiple paired cell phones are
within range of the system, the
system connects to the paired
cell phone that is set to First to
Connect. If there is no cell
phone set to First to Connect, it
will link to the cell phone which
was used last. To link to a
different paired cell phone, see
“Linking to a Different Phone”
later in this section.
First to Connect Paired Phones
If multiple paired cell phones are
within range of the system, the
system connects to the paired cell
phone that is set as First to
Connect. To enable a paired cell
phone as the First to Connect
phone:
1. Make sure the cell phone is
turned on.
2. Touch Settings, then touch
System.
3. Touch Phones to access all
paired and all connected cell
phones and mobile devices.
4. Touch the information icon to
the right of the cell phone to
open the cell phone’s
settings menu.
5. Touch the First to Connect
option, to enable the setting for
that device.

Are you shutting off the car before she gets in? If so, it's probably random which fob it detects when you restart. If not, I'm very surprised it's changing settings while the car is on. There is, unfortunately, no way to set a fob priority. If she rarely drives the car, it might be worth getting an RF blocking pouch for her to keep her fob in. Amazon has a bunch of them:
