Why is it so hard to understand that he gets to enjoy his Corvette on a road trip/vacation, and enjoy the bike as well? Who gives a crap what it looks like during the trip. The rack looks easily removable when one reaches a destination.
Very clever solution OP!
TYVM! I encountered a lot of criticism researching, I’m used to it. I bought this car to drive and have fun.
I looked at several solutions including trailering the car before I settled on this. I’m pleased with how clean everything is once the rack is removed and the cover is in place. The bikes don’t seem to affect handling for transportation and once we get to our destination, it’s a 2 minute take down so the car is clean again.

Nice move! I did the same thing with my 99 C5 HT. It was awesome as I was traveling from The Ma Da Hay trail in ND to McDowell Mt in AZ running Mt bike trails. As for needing a truck, it was completely unnecessary as I was hauling an Off Road 29er
My 29er is my workhorse. Last year my friend and I shipped our 29ers to Deadwood SD, flew up to meet them and started a self supported bike pack trip to St Louis. Loved the Black Hills and hope to get up to ND soon!
Man, some of you are judgy about what other people do to their own cars. I think it's great. Really unobtrusive when just driving around, too. I have a suction cub mount and use it for my road bike. My mountain bike is heavy, and I'm worried I will be tired or clumsy and damage my car lifting it onto the roof, so I use my SUV for that. Plus I don't want to be stupid muddy after a mountain bike ride and then get in the Vette. If had the hitch you have, I could bring the mountain bike, too, but I would also need a really big towel to cover the driver's seat ;-) Enjoy it!
I think it's awesome, love the idea and looks good in the pics so far. Can you show some pics from a lower angle? How much of the hitch is visible underneath the car? does it impact ground clearance? Do you have to cut much plastics to get it to fit? How is the finish around the cutout area for the receiver? How hard to put it back to stock? How do you handle the wiring? What's the installation like? How much does it weigh? The manufacturer site is weak on details.
Sorry for all the questions, I just think this is brilliant for a car like this, it solves so many potential issues. Aside from bikes you could mount a cargo basket or tow a small trailer. Track day wheels and tires, tools, etc. A 200lb TW is low but adequate and a 2000lb trailer is a solid amount of weight to be able to handle. Not that I would do it, but I am pretty sure my two jet skis on a trailer are under 2k lbs! This seems like something Chevy would want to market. But then again, it might stress the DCT too much.
I had the PowerNeedy class 1 trailer hitch that you mention installed on my 2020 Z51 C8 by the dealership body shop about 7 months ago and have been happily using it (with a bike rack) to easily & safely haul my various bikes.

Nice. Here’s my C7 with a hitch. Looking forward to a hitch on my 2023 C8 that’s on order.
I have just one question, does that trailer have mag ride?
Haha. It has a Dexter torsion axle. That trailer effortlessly followed my C7 through triple digit twistiest in the mountains in the western U.S. The car hardly noticed it back there, even loaded up with camping gear and a cooler full of salmon that I caught in Washington. Actually, it tows behind the C7 better than it does behind my F-150.
I would be concerned the thing would go tumbling off as I drIve my car like GTA occasionally and that thing would get in the way of a street race lol If I’m going to take it easy I would rather drive my Cadillac.

How fast can you go with a SeaSucker rack on the roof?
We've speed tested our racks over 175 mph, in controlled conditions and with adequate safety measures. Nevertheless, going above the speed limit violates the SeaSucker warranty.
Heck, the whole rear end of the Corvette is designed around being able to carry golf clubs in the trunk... so why not add a slight, tasteful mod to allow Bikes to be carried?!?!

personally have done 110mph w/ no issues. Best rack on the market..
