Default Z06 vs Stingray

I think the Z06 is an Amazing car, but I wonder if it’s worth upwards of 80-100k or more than a Stingray??

Having picked up a 70AE Stingray in Pearl White with a Carbon Flash HTC last month in which I ordered almost every option which cost 110K+ I personally think it’s amazing also and can’t imagine the Z06 is worth that premium.

I understand the differences between the cars in terms power, track performance and the visceral sensation you get listening to the engine rev to 8600, but I think that premium is to high. I guess the future owners don’t care about price they just want to be in that exclusive Z06 ownership club.

What do you think?

Personal choice.
Like I think paying the premium of about $6K for the 70th Anniversary Edition is not worth it.
But I guess the ones who select that option don't care about price and just want to be in the 70th club.

Your C8 looks great by the way!

Some people are paying 95k to 105k MSRP for a Stingray if you can believe that.

Would 130k for a z06 be worth it to me over a 100k dollar stingray? Hell yes it would be.

Would a 160k z06 be worth it to me over a 76k z51 mag ride stingray? Thats a harder question imo

Yep, personal choice. I have friends with 8,000 sf houses for two people. They don’t need that but it’s what they like.

I think that the comparison is similar to driving a normal small block vs big block since I don’t have any C8Z06 experience. Is the big block experience worth 50% more? No, not for everybody, that’s why fewer were sold. But, would you rather have a L88 more than a boring hydraulic lifter 327?

But, I don’t think a Z06 is worth the premium they are getting unless you really think you can get most of it back when you sell it. It’s a very expensive option on a $65k car. However, I’m happy for everyone that gets to buy one and if given the opportunity, I might be tempted to spend the extra money on what is basically an engine option..

A very well equipped Z06 for 130k will definitely be worth it over my 95k base car. The Z is just in a different league.

I think that for most people, the Stingray will be a better choice than the Z06. Few, VERY few, will ever take their Z06 to the track, and there are few place left in the U.S. where you can rev it to 8600 rpm on the street in anything but first gear. And probably not in first gear, either. The extra low-end torque of the LT2 will be more useful on the street than the high rpm power of the LT6. But it looks awesome, sounds great, and that's enough for some. For others, it will be enough to just know, or send the message, that they've got the ultimate. If you want a Z06, for any reason, and can afford it, that's really all the reason you need.

But on the street I've got probably 90% of the performance, for way less than 90% of the cost. My choice. If I win a few hundred mil in a lottery, I might change my mind.

Premise is just wrong. It's not a $80-100k difference. It's more like $30-40k. You paid more for that car than a base Z06 costs.

You paid $110k for a base C8. A 3LZ Z06 HTC is $131k. With anniversary pack it's $136k. Literally a $25k difference.

I think for true car enthusiast who want to be viewed as the top dog on the street/track it is worth it.

Exactly, I paid $81,600 for the below well-equipped '23 2LT Z51 C8. The similarly equipped Z06 2LZ I've spected out on the visualizer is $125,000. That's only a $43,400 difference.

Thanks, I believe we chose wisely in our color selection. My Z06 will be the same color if it's still offered when my allocation comes up.

beautiful car you have there but as beautiful as it is I don’t think 2 out of 10 people will pick 110k loaded htc 70th Anniversary stingray over a 1lz htc zo6 taking in consideration that both are practically the same price
