I'm also in Minnesota and I'm on the list with macmulken. I tried to message you jayjay but couldn't for some reason. Can you send me a message with the dealers that may have allocations in mn? With snow on the ground I need something to get me through the winter.
Hi, I have responded to multiple people through PM concerning the dealer location of the open allocation. If I learn early next week that no one has taken it I'll post the dealer name.
all I did was Google chevy dealerships near me and started calling.
I wonder how much of the price slowing is being caused by the slowing economy? I wouldn’t be surprised if dealers are having people pull out because many were looking to flip for a quick ptofit. Suddenly they’re not sure if they can get that quick sale, so they don’t take the risk. I ordered my c8 in august and was told to expect it to take about a year. This week I got an email that my car will be built later this month.
I think that is a big part of it. I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but last year i bought a new c8 but didn't keep it because I was able able to sell it at a 20k + profit. I really loved the car but felt that in a year or two the prices would come down and I would buy a c8 to keep... and I'm keeping this car 💯 %.
I have been a corvette guy my entire life. First was a 1971 coupe when I was in high school circa 1986. I drove a 1969 year round all 4 years of college in Minnesota.
Dealer in Chandler AZ has 2 - 2023 C8's on the showroom floor. Rapid Blue 1LT for 15K over list and an Amplify Orange 3LT HTC Z51 for also 15K over list. I did not look at the price, was actually looking at the headlight fitment so I know what to look for when I p/u in December. The AO car looked perfect and the RB had pass side perfect but driver side looked to be touching the paint on the high side. Just to be sure I took pics.
Good news, the prices are finally returning to normal... Bad news, the prices are finally returning to normal...

THIS!!
I went 'window shopping' for a used C8 several months ago. The realistic entry level price was $90K. Just looked last week and the entry price for a used C8 is now in the low $80s range. Still paying a premium to get one, but it's down almost $10K.
Prices on C7s has really dropped with some examples selling in the mid $30Ks.

Exactly why I sold my 14' last Spring and pocketed the $10K I made after enjoying it for 4 years. The 19's were being sold for at least 25% off MSRP at the end of the C7 era. It was easy to see how once the flipping market cooled on C8's the C7 market would drop like a stone.
My C8 was at MSRP and while it would have been nice to get one at a normal discount of 10-15% off the reality is MSRP will be the norm for C8's for awhile.
Unfortunately a lot of folks 'shopping' by phone get a salesrep that 'when he says hello, is saying all he knows' about Corvettes and the market. There are a lot of opportunities out there for the persistent shopper to get exactly what he wants at MSRP in a relatively short time. My advise.... don't give up the first time you hear that the wait is a year+. That guy will be likely selling hardware at Home Depot next week.
