Thats only when the cf replaces a heavier part. In this case it sticks on top of parts already there.

They technically add weight

Looks great 👍. I’m just not a carbon fiber guy because carbon fiber is simply the new chrome.

@Red rag as posted above - didn't you know carbon fiber makes the car lighter? The more carbon fiber you add the lighter it gets.

they don’t know, some people love to put other others style down but think it’s ok if they add the “ to each it’s own” like that makes it better but hey to each it’s own lol

Yup I agree and it sure looks better than the black painted plastic trim it’s covering.

I wasn’t putting anyones style down as you say, it’s just not my style. When someone posts a picture of a mod they did with no questions asked, to me it’s open for comments, hence a forum. It seems the OP wants opinions and I did state that it looks ok and I do also agree better than plain black, but I’m saying that I won’t be adding it myself by saying the “to each their own” comment. It’s not meant to be negative, it’s opinion.

It's certainly not CF that is there for a reason other than aesthetics. Form vs function. Rather than checking the boxes for all the CF "accents", I just put that money towards functional performance features, Z51, MSRC, PTM, E60, dual roof package, etc.
Too each their own I suppose. People love to have their calipers painted red, I just had mine stock black. The red calipers just seem to scream "look at me!!!", however I am told a Sebring Orange tint coat is the biggest scream out there.

He posted it thinking people might know it was real carbon fiber. There are plenty of mods on this forum that are not my thing; However, I don't feel the need to criticize them.

and you are right with your comment, I see nothing wrong with that I was referring to people saying that it was fake and things like that, the OP just posted a pic of his car just to show what he did I get people will get a reaction and I’m sure is not everyone cup of tea but there was no need to say things that they don’t know …that’s all I’m saying

It's the internet where people have opinions and often express them.
If you post to accept phrase, then you should probably be able to accept criticism as well. Especially if you are posting day in and day out items that people are sure to have opinions both in support and against.

Exactly but apparently you can only praise pictures, or say nothing at all. I thought this was a forum to discuss a multitude of topics, ask for and offer help and opinions. Guess we’re both wrong

Carbon fiber doo dads where all the rage 20 yrs ago with the ricers. Using it for light weight structures like wheels etc and I'm all in.

It serves the weight reduction function if it replaces the original part, but if it's stuck on, it adds weight.

And what exactly is wrong with Chrome? OH yeah, it's not like the 50s and 60s chrome.
