I received an email from dealer on Nov. 11 documenting my build and that it was submitted to GM. I have yet to hear anything since, but was told today that I couldn't add an option. This doesn't seem to match some of the posts I have seen here on the forum, does this seem right?
Unless your order has been assigned to an allocation and has gone to order status 3000, no that is not right. If you are not at 3000 status or beyond your dealer is just terribly uninformed, lazy, or just outright liars. You can use Chevy Chat (assuming you have your Order Workbench order number (6 alphanumeric characters) to get the current status of your order. If your order IS at 3000 or beyond, your dealer is correct.
You should absolutely ask your dealer for the GM Order Workbench number, if they haven't already given it to you. As @Zymurgy has indicated above, that will let you check the status and determine independently if you can still change the order. It will also let you verify that they have indeed placed the order. If they can't give you the GM Order Workbench number then the order doesn't exist. I never believe anything a dealer tells me unless I have a way to verify it.
Just checked the preorder sheet I was sent,,, the info it lists,,, the preliminary order detail-- order # CGGMCV
BAC: 201506
a charge to - BAC 201506
ship to BAC- 201506
BAC is just the code for the dealership. In your case, the selling dealer, invoiced dealer and ship to dealer are all the same. If you were doing a courtesy delivery or NCM delivery, the ship to BAC would be different. The Order # is your order that you can use with Chevy chat to get your order status.
Based on the BAC, your dealer is: ED DENA'S AUTO CENTER - DINUBA, CA
Thats what I thought but I included the BAC because the order number was letters the CGGMCV
"Letters" are "alphanumeric".

That description is somewhat meaningless. It could mean 1100, 2000 or 3000. Get the status code (number).
1100 Preliminary Order Accepted 2000 (Placed Order)Accepted by GM 3000Acceptedby Production Control
Big difference between 1100 and either 2000 or 3000. 1100 means your order has not been assigned an allocation by your dealer and will sit at that status until it is assigned to an allocation. 2000 or beyond means your order has been assigned an allocation and is on its way to being built.
contacted GM rep earlier and was told order had been accepted. Contacted again today via text and was told 3000 and that I couldn't add anything to the order. Thanks again guys finally a more specific answer.
