Exactly one year ago today, Mrs. Rapid and I walked into the NCM and first saw this:
10,000 fantastic miles later, it still thrills and delights —best Vette I’ve ever owned.
I took this picture today:
Pretty much says it all. What other vehicle could make the utterly mundane task of picking up groceries something to look forward to?
And that’s how it’s been the last 12 months — whether a fun back-roads blast, long-distance highway cruising with our club, a night out on the town with Mrs. Rapid, or just picking up light bulbs at Lowe’s, the C8 simply excels…
Yep Corvettes, C8 and otherwise, are VERY SPECIAL and have been bringing many smiles and enjoyment for 70 years now. I don't know which made the the happiest, my fist new Corvette (1975) when I was 17, or the C8 Z51 I picked up 3 months ago tomorrow.

My 6th Vette, all others including every DD I had for ~60 years had a 3rd pedal. After 27 months.my C8 still gets me excited when I go to pick-up groceries!
All the best for your future years of exciting drives.

I agree 100%. I really hate when guys on these forums downplay how special these cars are to those who own them by saying things like "it's only a car" or "it's just a Chevy" and many other negative comments.
To me it's a special car and yes, I treat it differently than any other vehicle I have ever owned. I just put it away for winter and I look forward to getting it back out in the spring.
